    Happy Birthday Aussielass:bdaycake:

I'm a happy bunny today as since yesterday I have lost 2 lbs  i don't understand how I can have lost 2 whole lbs in one day but there you go  I'm aiming to get down to 13 st 10 lb by Feb (2 lbs to go).

I've decided that in order to keep my meals interesting and healthy I'm going to spend a little more on food  I know, I know, but I've been relying on cheesey things, baked goods and using up the fat from roasts etc. These thrifty habits aren't doing my bum any favours :D . In the long term I think investing a bit more money in my future health is a valid thing to spend my money on. Also we're in a secure financial position (no debt), plus OH has just been promoted. I'm spending less on wine, so maybe the extra I'm spending on chicken breasts, tuna steaks and out of season bagged salads  (for example) will balance out. Anyway I'm off to Waitrose this morning for some recreational food shopping :D

Love to all and have a 'g'day' Aussielass

Mum goes in hospital tomorrow for an operation and she's really scared.
Positive vibes being sent her way! Do encourage her to talk through her fears with the Dr tomorrow, I'm sure they'll put her mind at ease as best they can. ((hugs))

Kaz - oooh stuffed crust! :T :T You just know we'll all be experimenting with that now :D:D:D :T

cat - hope ds is able to go on his Yr 5 trip, it's such a great experience for them. Mine lads did theirs in Yr 6 and it really was a funtastic, confidence building experience.

Yesterday I paid the remaining balance for a Yr 8 school trip for D12yo - £245 - but I'd saved it in my account to get the interest and delayed paying in full until the last possible moment. I know that next year, D11yo will be offered the same opportunity (it's a week in France :D ) and I'll save up for that one too because I really do feel these trips are worthwhile. Hopefully your X will see the value of it and put in his contribution, it would be such a shame if your ds were to feel let down :(

No snow here twink, if you want a snow free zone and a cuppa (with heating!) I'll make a cake ;)

AMIE - make sure you've been to the toilet before weigh in ... it can make all the difference ;) Funnily enough, I spent a bulk of time inputting WW recipes into my Recipe database over the weekend - all taken from the free WW emails that I've been receiving for longer than I care to remember. Thought it was about time I actually *used* them :o
Good luck with weigh in ;):D

Went veg shopping in lidl last night and must admit I was impressed - Now all I need to do is work out what I can serve with celeriac and Jerusalem artichokes

Smokeybabe - Hope everything is OK after yesterday

AussieLass - Many happy returns to you

Anyway, that's all from me at the moment. As always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed

    Take care of yourself Snowy
Queenie - hope you get this resolved quickly with the school
Miss Behaving that you for your post as Kazoline said Im glad things are changing - I do feel sorry for kids that have problems at home but bullying is a terrible thing that can ruin peoples lives. Also I know a lot of adult bully's in workplaces and that can be just as bad as well (hmm wasnt thinking of Jade but thats a good example).

Feeling quite motivated at the moment, have emptied dw, loaded wm and have showered and washed hair, all kids school stuff is ready and waiting in the hallway and puppy has been outside. Once finished posting will go and clean kitchen and fold up dried washing ready to be ironed later.

In my office again today for more horrible jobs that have been put off but am very pleased with my progress so far. Hopefully will get loads done and give myself the chance to clean & tidy in here properly as I do dread coming in here.

Oh and need to have a route around in the freezer for something for tea tonight.

Ive gone on a bit this morning so will go now.

    Have a great day.
  • Good Morning!

Hoping for a better day today. My CT scan was a bit of a disaster and I left the hospital fuming  . After one attempt, they gave up trying to inject the dye that I needed and decided to do the scan without it. I told them that my consultant had said last week that it was really important that they used the dye. I stressed that this was my most important scan as the results would determine whether I needed further chemo. I was then left lying on my own in the scan room for the best part of an hour whilst they tried to get hold of a doctor. The one who arrived had never been to the CT room before. She stabbed me three more times before giving up and told them to go ahead with the scan. I've now resigned myself to the fact that more chemo is inevitable.
After the hospital, we went cooker shopping, as the oven is now beyond repair. To cut a long story short, we've decided to make do with using just the hob for the time being and getting a new boiler and rads installed first. Of course, we have no money for this - not unless the insurers pay up - so feeling very much in limbo at the moment, both financially and with regards to my health.

Got to pop to the shops later for bits. I'm aiming to walk there and back, as I've been getting the bus there and walking back lately.
WM is on, and I'm doing a turkey casserole for tea.

Have a fab day everyone - hope the poorly people improve.

    Happy Birthday Aussielass

Scuzz I hope your mums's okay

Queenie - would you like me to have words with the bully? :D I'm very good at that, ask my DS ;)

    Quasar A soap collection - I don't think I dare ask :D

Feeling very icky today, it's that time of the month again and the older I get the worse it gets. Hopefully a few more years and it won't bother me at all, I wonder if I'm the only one who looks forward to the menopause :D

WM is on and something is out the freezer for tea, all I have to do now is unload the dishwasher and then I can go to my friends for coffee after I have dropped DD off at school.

 Actually, it's one of the reasons d12yo hadn't admitted to the verbal teasing (being called fat and her saying he had BO) he didn't *want* me to have a few words :rotfl: Mind you, the thought of moggins sending the bully off with a flylady in her ear ... ... ah yes, that appeals muchly :D:D:D What time you coming, I'll make a bigger cake :D:D

Essex - hope that motivation continues at work, you do sound like you're on a roll :T :T :T

smokeybabe and jellycat hugs to you and your oh's hope they are recovering

snowy - hope you feel better soon

queenie-sorry to hear about the bullying. Like everyone says, at least school do something these days. The BF was bulled really badly at school and left when he was 12 as the school would do nothing  (this was in the late 1970s). He basically taught himself at home with distance learning courses until he was 16 and went to sixth form college.

Life plods on in Loubee world. Have no washing machine and no useable bathroom at the moment (just in case you were wondering what the pong was!). Thank goodness we have a shower at work I can use.

Am off to see a studio flat tonight in Brockley (SE London). After 12 years of flatsharing, it’s definitely time to move on.

Busy day at work today-lots of meetings with the Dr’s that we collaborate with in our research. Most of them are middle aged men and always seem surprised to see a young women, esp. in a physics department.

    Breakfast-marmite and crumpets
Lunch-tuna, fennel and canneli bean salad
Tea-whatever the BF cooks for me :D

have a good day. Hugs to those under the weather or blue or just fancy a cuddle :grouphug:
