that sounds good.I make bread pudding with mine.
Soak bread in half a pint for milk for about half hour, add 1 egg, as much dried fruit as you like, couple of teaspoons of mixed spice, 4oz sugar, and 2oz butter or marg. squidge it all together till well mixed, put in a well greased tin for about and hour on 200 C.
Cut into squares and sprinkle sugar on the top.

Some options, toast it and eat with a dip, make it into bread and butter pudding can add raisins, currents or spread with marmalade/jam and bake in oven, make into breadcrumbs and use as crumble topping, either savoury or sweet, feed it to the ducks in the park, but whatever you do...... enjoy :j0

Breadcrumbs (grate on a cheese grater) and make:
- Fish cakes (mash up some fish, either cooked fresh fish or tinned, potato and herbs and coat in mixed egg then breadcrumbs then grill or fry)
- Meatballs (mix up mince, breadcrumbs, oinion, garlic, egg, herbs, make into little balls then grill of fry) serve with sauce made from tin of toms and a splash of red wine.
- Chicken/turkey cordon blu (can't spell it) cut chicken/turkey breast almost in 1/2 along the breast. put a slice of ham and cheese in coat in an egg then breadcrumbs. You could stuff it with garlic and butter instead and make chicken/turkey kiev.
- Chicken nuggets (bits of chicken coated in mixed egg then breadcrumbs, then fry or grill)

A very simple way is to grate into breadcrumbs then add to omelettes to bulk them out.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0

Not quite what to do with the bead - but if you're wanting to get the kids involved or you're worried about grating your knicklesyou can make breadcrumbs by putting torn up bread inside a poly bag and then rubbing it from the outside - it's easier than grating if you have to make the crumbs from fresh bread too

apple brown betty
crumble bread into a dish, top with chopped apple, butter, sugar and anither layer of bread, butter and sugar. Bake. face the giggles from your family for serving them something with such a silly name!
Also works with pineapple or cherries - we have had all the variations and its yummy.
You can use stale bread to thicken soup, or make your own chicken nuggets - cover chicken pieces in beaten egg, then shake in a big box with breadcrumbs then coated, then deep fry.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I'd rather have something tasty like potatoes and onions to bulk my omelette out, and an extra egg doesnt cost much.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
