Sorry run that past me again? MJ and others take out contracts for other people and make money in doing so. How is that not making money from others?

The people I order for would rather have me ensuring they get their cashbacks than go it alone and slip up. For the time and work involved (and it isn't just the cashback which I ride shotgun over) the cashback from ordering isn't really much. Most of them wouldn't have ordered via a cashback site in any case - and they would all far rather know they will get their money than gain the cashback for ordering. If they weren't more than happy they wouldn't continue to ask me to order deals for them - as well as find them in the first place.

In the context of this thread, redemption deals are always much better than automatic cashback or free gifts - and reliability is fine provided you know what you're doing. There are also other opportunities for people to save money from these deals sometimes - and I highlight those for them as well. The people I order for have generally enjoyed free or near free mobiles phones and contracts (apart from one or two who got a taste for superior phones, although I have also found better deals for them). Many have enjoyed that for years and I don't think you'll find THEM complaining - so why would you?

Where I do agree with you is where people go into these things without knowing what they're doing. Then cashback deals are risky and can be seen as unreliable. Like anything else, if you're good enough at it and practice enough you become pretty much an expert and don't trip yourself up.

So you make money - profit as its otherwise known. I'm sure your financially struggling relatives (all 33 of them) will be very grateful for your selfless help......
Where did I say that I had helped 33 relatives, just because some may have problems getting credit doesn't mean they are in any way struggling.

I have taken 33 contracts, many for my self, however where it is for someone else , they have asked me to and yes they are gratefull.

I was only pointing out that there are risks if you go into these deals with your 'head in the sand' , I hope you don't fall off your 'high horse' or you could end up with your head in the sand.

If the companies offering these deals were not running a business which relies on catching people out then I wouldn't have a problem with it. These deals are available only because the majority of people dont manage to claim all of their cashback - if they did then it wouldn't be a viable business. And I'll bet that those that lose out are the ones that probably can least afford it.

Yes, but the information given at the time off ordering makes it clear that these are redemption deals and anyone who doen't read and do a screen print of the terms and conditions during checkout deserves what coming to them or in this case what won't be coming to them.

These companies don't wholly rely on redemption deals, theres also automatic cashback/ 'free gifts' and also bog standard ordinary contracts..... you pays your money and and takes your choice.

They rely on the the commission they receive from the networks in the first place. 'Automatic cashback' and 'gifts' prove this.

Is this a groundless statement or you can prove it with some facts?

But why should anyone have to do a screen print? Any honest business would provide a copy of the T&C and stick to them.

    I give up !!!
  • Who said any business is "honest"? Free gifts aren't free at all, yet are described thus. Your question is an example of why no-one should be ordering anything over the internet unless they know exactly what they're about - cashback or not.
  • I feel sorry for the OP of this thread. Legitimate question and they have had their thread well and truly hijacked.....

Completely groundless but has to be true to some extent. the amount paid out on the autocashback will be less than the commission (presuming the phone comes from the network provider) otherwise they would be losing money. so if the redemption deals are offering more money back than the auto cashback deals then these must be running at a loss if every claim is successful, which would explain why they do their best to avoid paying out claims.

Provided thats true then they must be paying out less in claims that they make in unpaid claims so they would pay out in less than 50% of claims to make it sustainable.

complete conjecture really but then this is the internet - facts are usually irrelevant ;)
