Why do you think you overspent? What could you do a little differently? Is your budget just too tight for your circumstances?0 -

I agree with flying - don't give up...also think about how much more you would have spent if you were not being mindful that you were doing this challengex

Don't be down, I will not finish this months challenge till 30th and look how much I have spent. Each month is a learning curve and slowly and surely I know I will cut down, and so will you - you are here because you want to cut down, that's the first step and cut down you will, I have spent the month moaning how bad I am but now I look on it as said learning curve. For all I have gone over I know I have still spent less than I would have as i do think twice before buying and so most of what I have bought is useful, not just impulse cake or puddings but things I can freeze or put in my store cupboard and last night I did a freezer inventory and found I had enough in it for 6 main meals - ok maybe not all the bits to go with but all the fish, chicken, lamb and beef to last yes 60 meals. Now that makes me very happy, and so long as it stays that way and cupboards as full I know I can cut down to just replace what I use, maybe not next month or the next but soon I will as if nothing else will run out of space but more because I will see the savings I am making. I used to spend every bit of money after bills on food and yes there were plenty of things that were a total waste of money and now I do not buy them so to me that is a result just in one money, and I hope to build on that.
So pleased don't give you, if I can do it I know you can
:ANeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I'm saving any Christmas blowout for cheesecake which I adore and have had once in the last six months! I'm not going to eat loads, but Christmas and Boxing Day will be my days off from tracking my food and being on my diet then it will be back on the wagon for me!
Thanks for talking sense and helping me stop my head buzzing with too many stupid overblown ideas
Plan now is to 1] get him to confirm what he wants for his dinner in terms of meat [previously said beef, but may have changed his mind now - I'll be having something vegan anyway]; 2] load up our plates with plenty of veg; 3] give ourselves permission to just relax about it for a couple of days, then get back on the wagon. Sounds doable to me. :T
I do have some spends to add in from today, but my eyes and brain are too tired to sort out the receipts now - I'll be back, though. N'night, all...Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides.0 -
Ltsally dont beat yourself up, look at your sig, you have been under budget before, no reason it can't be again!
Although i have not bought anything, apart from m&s treats on monday, but that was another budget. Tomorrow is my promo day, so visiting 3 tescos, can't trust myself not to buy a whoopsie! so wont declare yet.
I have however made an £83 order at mr t's but this is coming out of the dec budget, even though payday isnt until tuesday.
But i had £40 worth of evouchers and used £15 new customer code, so will only pay £26, hopefully can use some coupons, i only made a order because a) the offers i want finish on my payday b) i have the day off on fri so can accept delivery.
Will lower my gc target by £5 because it is crimbo and although i got a lot of money off, i got alot of well needed items to stock up freezer etc, wont spend any actual money apart from whoopsies until tuesdayLose 28lb 3/28lb

Hello, I'm going to try do £200 from now until Christmas but that'll include all the Christmas food too. There's just me, my husband & 1 year old daughter but we'll be having my parents over for Christmas dinner. I'm quite chuffed with myself on today's shop as I had my christmas cake substituted from value to finest and I was going to buy a new dish brush costing 87p from tesco but then bought 4 for £1 in savers. I've also switched our gas & elec tonight via quidco (£30 cashback) and I'll save £140 a year because of it.0
