Reporting a £2.70 spend at Mr T. Got 3 Frijj milkshakes on the b1g2f offer for £1.20, some yellow sticker new potatoes for 40p, 15p stuffing, 80p cashew nuts (been waiting to find some reasonably priced ones for ages!) and a free panini in the cafe courtesy of Mum!

Unfortunately I need three nights of easy dinners for tonight tomorrow and friday. I have a busy day tomorrow and have an illness that ruins energy levels so have to be really careful, need to rest lots before and after! Easy dinners tend to be more expensive though IMO and unhealthy. Tortelloni with chopped toms tonight, freezer-something (cheesy veg pasta should be lurking)microwaved tomorrow and probably pizza with new potatoes friday night.

Should still come in under budget this month though which is great as December will be expensive. Will add any underspend to Decembers budget I think :) Or keep it in reserve to add to total just in case ;)

Am up to £350, which considering how many shops I have done this month and the way it was going at the beginning, is not too bad... (there's a few Christmas bits and DH's cider in there that aren't mean tot be counted too)
I am beginning to think I may actually come in under this month. Have been seriously resisting buying more for the 'stores' as they are rather full, have even managed to use some things up! Chest freezer is dangerously full but that is mainly bread and things like the Christmas beef and gammon.

    Must inventory it again though...

My list for tomorrow is as follows:

    • Bananas
    • Apples (the ones I got from Aldi are tiny and too sharp for my taste :()
    • Milk (small one as Mr F is away so we're not drinking a gallon of tea a day!)
I nearly stuck to it too...

Only extra things were reduced veg for stew (45p) and some beef shin to make said stew with (£2.20) so I still spent under a fiver.

Will edit post in a second with current progress to target when I figure out where I hid the receipt!

*edit* £4.81 spent taking me to £67.17/£200 spent for December :o

And tonights offering was Savoury Sausage Bake.

8 sausages, 500g penne, 2 tins chopped tomatoes, garlic to taste, head of brocolli, mozzerella and basil or rosemary or sage (depending what your suits your sausage)

Grill sausages, boil pasta, cook brocolli. While this is going on put the tomatoes in a oven proof dish, season and mix in garlic.

Put oven on to 200degC to warm up.

When sausages are grilled chop into 4 and add to dish, drain and rinse penne and add, drain brocolli and add. Mix it all up.

Slice mozzerella and lay on top of mixture (my dish takes 4 moz balls) Sprinkle on herbs.

Put into oven and bake for 20 mins or so until cheese melts.

Serve as it is or with extra veg. like sweetcorn if you prefer.

That sounds really nice (except for the brocolli - I would have to use onions and mushrooms as I really don't like brocolli!!) - how many people will that feed?

Have had a really lazy day today as I am not sleeping well at night - I had toast and cereal for brunch and then have just picked at bits all afternoon, with the result that I am not at all hungry now. Have made a pizza for the kids which is just in the oven.

NSD today as I haven't been out - so that's not bad!

My December challenge starts on Monday so I have about £20 in my purse and that will have to last until then. Apart from bread I don't think that there is anything that we need, although if I go to Farmfoods for bread I may get the bacon offer, as it was really nice the last time I got it.
