  • Well I am going from bad to worse, went to a real butchers today and spent £16 but in my defence I have bought enough meat for about at least 10 meals, and might be able to eek it out for more. I also paid £5 for him to keep me some brisket for that amount when they get it in again next week so that will be a few more meals. Also popped into Sains to get milk and as I had a spend £30 get and extra 100 nectar points I decided to see if there were any whoopsies - nothing I wanted in the main foods but lots in fruit and vegetables so bought lots of apples and pears so plan to either tonight or tomorrow peel and cut them up and make them into lumpy puree for puddings. I wandered round but nothing I really needed so just spent the rest on store cupboard items that will get used and ended up spending £33. So will go and update my sig. Oh well not long till Dec and maybe, just maybe I can cut down even more as I have already spent less as actually got a few pounds saved each week and been buying a few more things we needed in the house not included here, so very, very slowly I am learning.

Can I ask, I read of people starting diarys on here to help them keep on track, how do you do that as I think that would help me a lot? Thanks

Finally went shopping for my f&v, had a £5 off £40, so got OH more coffee and a few extra tins for the cupboard. Taking off dog food and a birthday card that are from a seperate budget, I spent £31.64.

Just wtote a long post and lost the retched thing. Should of c&p'd it before I posted. It was a lot of individual replies, sorry everyone.

Anyway yesterday I spent CS £10, One Store £2.50, Peacocks £19, Boots £32 but I had vouchers for £20 from a survey so only £12 in real money, Wilko's was £20. So that was a lot of dosh yesterday .

Today I had an A$da delivery at £57 and an Approved Foods delivery at £23

So total for the last 2 days is £143 :eek:Well that knocked out all those NSD :( Still that is only £299 and it is nearly the end of the month and I shouldn't need too much. Any left I will keep to one side as we are going to join Costco in a couple of weeks time and we will probably spend a bit.

Tonights dinner was Hubble Bubble Pumpkin Pot.

2 leeks-thinly sliced, 8 rashers of smoked bacon-chopped, 350g of pumpkin flesh-cut into chunks (or use butternut squash), 50g butter, 1 chicken stock cube, 250g long grain rice.

Bung leaks, bacon and pumpkin in a microwaveable bowl. Dot with butter and cover with cling film and pierce. Micro on high for 5 mins-ish until everything is hot and starting to cook.

While veg is cooking make up stock cube to 700ml. Remove bowl from micro and uncover. Tip in rice and season with salt and pepper, then pour on stock and stir to mix.

Re-cover the bowl and micro on high for 10 mins. Uncover and stir and then micro again for 5-10 mins until rice is cooked. Leave to stand for 5 mins. Give it one last stir and serve.

Clean plates all round :D Minimal washing up :D And very little effort :D

Can't remember where that recipe came from as I write them out and they go in my recipe folder.

A £62 spend today at the sodding vets has made me realise that shaving money from my other budgets, including this one, is very important!

Tomorrow I'm going to Morrisons to do my top-up shop, which I do every week on my way to Fat Club. I'm making a list tonight and will post it shortly and am going to stick to it. I may also meal plan (eek!) which I rarely do! It's hard to do as Mr F is away at the moment and I'm not sure what day he's returning. I'm spending less on food now he's away though ;)

Spent another £50 in Mr A's but did buy some things to put away for Xmas as I had a £5 off a £40 shop voucher to use before Thurs. Well over budget now but as the freezer is full still, I'm hoping I won't need to buy much next month.
