  • hi as far as i am aware if food is frozen and u defrost it and cook it u can them refreeze it....so the sausage thing should be fine....im not sure about yorkshires...i have heard u can eat then like a pudding with golden syrup and cream...hth

Yes. They're called 'pop-overs (well that's what we call them anyway)! We only have golden syrup not cream. DH was not keen, he thought it was all wrong until he tried them.........:rotfl:

Hello  no it wasn't me on kirstie's homemade home (or whatever its called?) Good show though isn't it :T I have only seen episode 1. (other stacked up to watch :T) Do you think when she was baking all the cakes that it was solely her own work or do you think she had help??

Thinking now of going to online supermarket and doing virtual shop and working out meal budget from that. Back soon / much later ??!!

    Hi! :j

No, in the show, she gets the experts to show her how to do the cakes, she froze alot of it, eclairs and scones, the thing with this programme, she cheats alot! lol she always gets the experts to show her and then just keeps the guided work rather than attempt to start from scratch bless her, eeek just wrote out something that would spoil rest of the episodes for you, so will leave it there lol, since you love cross stitch you deffo have to waatch this weeks one, you will love it and you can see who i thought you were lol.

Back on topic, i didnt spend 11.31 like i put lol i only spent £1.31 so i am still within budget by a fiver, it will be hard for the rest of the month but i have loads of meat etc in the freezer, got to pick up my costco order tomorrow which includes a tray of chicken, a massive thing of foil and ziplock bags which i need, as containers take up too much freezer space, in fact that is my entire costco order, lol

  • Think I may be going to go over this month:( - just done my online order (delivery next week) which is around £50ish (few bits for the pets which need to come off).

I don't know how I will manage to stick to £100/month when my milk alone comes to over £30..... (more in the winter than summer).

Will wait and see what the total is when it's delivered and update sig then - I guess the good news is that I'll only need "fresh" stuff for the rest of the month but still going to be a struggle.

  • Another NSD for me today. Well, technically not, as I spent £3 on hotdogs at the fireworks. However, I'm not counting it, as we had fish pie for dinner (nom nom!), and the hotdogs were just a once-a-year firework treat. I can think of others who wouldn't consider it such, but I'm very lucky with my children!!! [At the moment...]

This means I'm now up to 10% of my month gone, and less than 2% of budget spent. I like this maths! Normally it's so far the other way I want to cry!! I have £3.63 per day left, which I think is quite reasonable.

The best thing about the day for me, apart from the fireworks was that I spent a good half hour sorting out some of my cupboard under the stairs. I'm having a new electricity meter fitted in a month's time, so that spurred me on to at least make a start in the grand sort-out. I re-arranged a few things, dated-ordered a few things, brought a few things into the kitchen and now I feel much better. I know it's only a start, but sometimes for me, that's the hardest part. I shall endeavour to do a bit more tomorrow.

Woop woop!!! Feeling good today! Hope everyone else is finding things to feel good about too.

    Me again,

So I did the online shop at Mr T and watched the total. There wasn't too much left once I'd passed the £50 mark and so put the rest on as it could be removed again if I went over a ton. But the whole lot is guide priced at £76.42, only two items aren't special offers/prices, there are 69 items and if they all come through the multibuy savings will be £50.80 so I'm quite pleased. And even better, I don't have to ruin my evening by having to go to the sm after work tomorrow!

I won't update my sig now as I will wait and see what is actually delivered as there are a couple of B1G2F, a lot of buy 2/3/4 for £X, and other specials which I don't expect to all be in stock. We shall see tomorrow evening when it arrives.

If it all comes through we'll be well stocked up for tinned stuff - beans, toms, corned beef, etc - and so I can't see us doing another biggie this month. Ooh, those look like famous last words!

Still waiting on DD, she was at membury services last time I heard and I'm hoping she won't be too much longer now. :undecided

So I'm gonna sign off for tonight and will probably be back on at the weekend though I should really spend that time getting the curtains from the dry cleaners and putting them back up with nice new linings. Ah, we'll see. ;)

    Take care all,

So far this month we have spent £4.57 in Mr A's, £16.82 in A1d1, and £3.60 in Mr S, as OH got a staff bargain of 2 half legs of lamb for £2 each minus 10% discount, and the date on them is July next year.

  • Hi Everyone

I've had a couple of months without keeping strong tabs on what I'm spending and the proof is in the pudding, Not watching and not posting a budget on this forum has led to overspending. So here I am again getting witnesses to my spending. This month I want to spend no more than £250 this month. This is more than I would like but L have already spent nearly £150 so I have to be realistic.

    Love to all

A couple of cheeky spends this morning in the supermarket leave me £15 poorer but the malibu was a good price and choc fudge cake will be a nice treat for my OH.

I haven't decided on my budget yet. Was too tired last night to do virtual shop and intend to meal plan tomorrow based on fridge/freezer/cupboard contents and then plan shops/budget accordingly.

Was shocked this morning when I visited my local Mr T as the person in front of me only scanned two of their items on the self service checkout and the third went into the bag unpaid for. (they didn't put it on the bagging area so it didn't register as unpaid for) I know it happens and probably much more than I realise but it was still a shock to see.
