sorry to hear that you are in such a hard place at the moment. I really hope that you can move physically and mentally to a better place soon. Would renting somewhere really be out of your league?
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • I am in no where near as hard place as you are Chev, I really hope you are doing ok, I hate the time difference it seems like ages till you update again.

Went to the dentist. to finish my treatment it will cost 2800 pounds. I have to be honest and point out that I am choosing the most expensive option. I never got three of my adult teeth, just kept my baby teeth untill fairly recently these (to aviod losing the teeth above and below) are now being replaced with implants. It is costly and possibly not the most sensibly course of action. It does put off any kind of housing savings.

I have also at some point got to pay 1800 pounds for the last part of my Masters

I have a 0% offer, for 12 months. It will all be a matter of timing. And of course watching each penny. It is roughly £4600 tho which is not to be taken lightly.

Still at the end of it I will have a masters and decent teeth!!

However it is seriously unlikely I would have any savings untill June........It would put me back months. Or rather could put me back months. It wouldn't be that much of a mare if I made full use of the CC offer and did half payments and half savings. Or some variation on that.....................

I am not thrilled about being in debt again. I have to remember that I have fixed up the car and been on holiday, I had enough in my savings to pay for the first set of dental treatment and I haven't been especially careful with my money re things like shopping etc.

any how feeling a bit rough after the dentist and so think I may go have an afternoon nap.

  • My name is Buffy and I am frumpy.

I am 35 but dress like a librarian on her way to a funeral who looks like a 50 year old from the 1950s.

That would be fine if that is what I was living in the 1950s!

So spurred on by a brilliant book

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Do-Everything-Happy-ebook/dp/B004QOAUDS/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1321747008&sr=1-1

I have been considering various aspects of my life.

    1. Work
has actually improved. And would improve if I were more organised and less lazy.

    2.Home life
is also not so bad, certainly needs changing but again with my tendancy towards apathy this could be fixed.

    3. Friendships
    Are being neglected

    4. Relationship
not got one do want one.

    5. me
    not healthy
    overweight
    skin a mess
    hair needs cutting

    Rules of the Glamour plan

    1. to do something to contribute to glamour each day(I have really let myself go!!)
    - ie nails, facial, body scrub, lipstick, hair style, make up
    - or wearing nice clothes/shoes/jewellery etc

    2. to buy some new clothes.
    - via e bay or in sales. sounds mad but I really hate clothes shopping would be happy in black but a few people have commented and I think I maybe looking a little miserable!
will aim for once a week.

    3. To spend 10 minutes tidying up something each day. my disorganisation is a massive problem.

    4. To study 3 times a week
I am studying for two courses at the moment. need to factor in time for this.

    5. To mark 3 times a week
    at least. preferably 4.

    6. To log in to the free dating website I belong to at least three times a week.
    - like, wink up or message at least one person each time.

    7. To contact one friend each day, wall posts do not count.
text messages and e mails do

    8. To use my diary.
    put in everything!

    9. To go out once a week
    - see a friend, go for a drive, essentially aiming to get away from home and work.

    10. To go to the gym place twice a week.
I am contemplating giving up membership - been a member a month and not loving it. if not the gym then going for a walk.

I have called it the Glamour plan because I want to feel better about my life and my appearance, I want to be polished and organised with some hint of mystery. I feel at the moment that I am treading water, nothing is happening and I want to spice up my life.

  • Right day one of the Glamour plan is going slowly

I have messaged a guy on the dating site.

I have incrediable guilt over my ex. I still miss him so. its pathetic.

I am going to have a bath later (exciting life!) but first need to tidy up my room and reorganise a book case and the various small furry creatures.

will update fully later. ooo also need to dye my hair!

    xx

  • Oooh, you sound like you are cheery in the last few days then Buffy.

I like the sound of the plan, from Granny to Glamour eh?! Changing things up is always fun, and you can definitely do it on a budget. Don't rule out charity shops/vintage shops for bargains, it is a bit of a scavenger hunt but you can still find good stuff out there.

The main thing I think is to have an idea of what sort of style you are aiming for...kooky? Classic? Sexbomb? Androgynous? Find celebs whose look you like and note down what kind of clothes they wear.
  • Buffy! Found you! :j (hug)

Sorry to hear about the teeth and the female friend - it really does bloody hurt (the friend as well as the dentist, that is), all I can suggest is accept it, grieve them, eventually it will go away.

Re. the masters do check out your options - if it's modular you may be able to put it on hold for a bit.

Clothes experiments sounds like a very good excuse for spending your toothache time watching repeats of Gok and Ten Years Younger and What Not to Wear :D
