what they really want is to not work yet still have everything.0

No, but I am happy to come up with a few practical alternatives for discussion. But they all involve some capitalism and compromise so I guess they are not acceptable.
Acceptable to who? All of the protesters, some of them or us on this board?
The mood for change always has people on the extremes and quite often the best solutions are the ones that are more acceptable to a majority.
As you mentioned some alternative I would be interested to hear them.0 -

It went back to the Romans and beyond. Ours is a pretty mild form.
Which system or era would you say worked better than what we have had for the last couple of centuries?0 -

Based on evidence or personal prejudice?
From some of the earlier reports on here I thought it was clear many do work.0 -

Indeed. In Victorian times it was much less regulated ("laissez-faire" market economics).0 -

OK
Countries should never be allowed to borrow beyond their means again.
The size of banks should be limited to a level where they can be let to fail.
Directors of any company over a certain size should carry some sort of liability in the event of failure, possibly linked to salary paid.

ILW please look back at my posts in this thread as you seem to think i am agreeing with the protestors. I agree in the fact tha capitalism is certainly not a perfect business model but have always stated that i wasnt willing to participate in demonstrations as i can't be ar sed and in general am quite happy with how my life is at the moment. Using what economic models we use now. I am not a big fan of capitalism but see it as a neccessary evil as such as to get rid would overhaul the whole economy or overhaul the global economy. Not just that i tihnk anyone would struggle to tell an institution using the model to stop, im sure they will say sod off!0
