I don't want to get rid of capitalism but think that regulatory control should have been better. Would I be welcome at the protest?
On the evidence of what I saw today, you would indeed be welcome (but you would have to learn the hand signals in order to get heard)
Like you and FTBFun, I have no desire to do away with capitalism, it has served us well
But the banks have taken all our money, and won't give it back
ILW wants us to specify an alternative to our present situation
Just give us our money back would be a start...

No, can you not see that capitalism is not the only tried and tested option?!
There are many different methods of economic structure with capitalism being one. can i refer you to a wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_system
I cannot see any other systems that have worked successfully for any period of time. Unless you see N Korea as a good example.
Our current sytem is not pure capitalism anyway.0 -
I don't get the impression that you would be welcomed if you made that point. According to another poster their sole aim is "TO GET RID OF CAPITALISM".
See what i mean by stubborn?
This protest was set up by a group called annonymous please research this before making ignorant comments on something you seem to know little about.0 -

One can only assume ILW is perfectly happy with the current situation?0

Well yes, but how many of these alternatives have actually worked?
Personally I think mixed economies work the best, but because that's actually what we have at the moment I assume that's not acceptable.0 -

I have searched annonymous and have yet to see a workable alternative to the current system. Please give me an example as I am open to suggestions.0 -

No, but I am happy to come up with a few practical alternatives for discussion. But they all involve some capitalism and compromise so I guess they are not acceptable.0 -

We dont have a pure capitalist state but you will find the majority of main institutions are based on the capitalist model
Like i said earlier i am not a genius on economic modelling and as such wouldnt expect myself to come up with new ideas, especially seen as i failed my economics a-level. There are different methods that can be used and im assuming they would like a more socialist model
I assume you also noticed then that the capitalist model also doesnt seem to work perfectly either?!0
