    Why 'if'?
They do know that third parties claim to be Vodafone and that third parties keep lying. The number of people complaining about misselling is very big and for each complaint they see what third party stands behind the sell. They can easily get rid of such companies or enforce some rules, but they are happy with the status quo and don't want to change anything because the number of people that don't complain is much bigger.
Think about it. The vodafone will only find out once it get a lot of complains. Otherwise how is it going to find out, tell me?
This happen to many companies, why others are not stoping it?
Some time you will get an email or phone call trying to make it look as it's from the bank asking for bank inf. Do you think banks are doing this them self?

I think you need to grow up a bit and look at things from both sides rather than go on about how big companies are to get you.

I think one complaint is sufficient if they do want to find out. The problem is that they don care as I said above.

Again, because they don't want to stop it.

Did you read the thread before replying? It looks like you didn't because your example is absolutely OOT. The thread was about official agents of Vodafone that work on commission and call you to sell contracts/upgrades. The only problem is that they tell lies to sell, but Vodafone don't care as long as they do sell.
I think you need to grow up a bit
The interesting thing is that many times I wanted to tell you the same. However I stopped my urges because, unlike you, I prefer to stick to the facts instead of making pointless personal attacks. The topic of this thread has nothing to do with the age of the posters.
  • It was defo Vodafone. I logged into my online Vodafone account and could see both the contracts there on the account with the correct price plan and line rental but with no add-ons. When I called up they also stated that no add-ons had been put on.

On another note; I called up Vodafone and recorded the phone call. The lady I spoke to confirmed that I should have these addons enabled on my account and I also got her to go through the overview of the price plan which I also have recorded now stating what I should have on the contract.

I will call up again just to verify because you never know how !!!!!! Vodafone could be and record the call.

Surely I can use this recording now in my defence?

The same happens if a third party sells Vodafone contract. It's not that I am saying that it definitely was a third party this time.

The problem is that you can easily use the recording only to have the contract cancelled, not to enforce it. BTW, if you don't make the second party aware of recording, the record is inadmissible for a court.

Hi, Why couldn't you use it to enforce the contract with Vodafone? Also how could it be used to cancel a contract. Do you mean cancelling a contract after its 7 day grace period?

Because they will just say that it was an error. With a legitimate record you can try taking them to a court. Is this what you really are prepared to do?

I don't remember their internal policy, but DSR don't apply to upgrades. Without a record of the phone call people can get stuck with a contract different from the one they were promised over a phone.
For a normal purchase I think you can cancel after 7 days, but the question will arise why you have not done this within 7 days.
  • I've also received email confirmation too from Customerservice@vodafone.co.uk. Reads as:

Dear Mr *****, As per our telephone conversation I can confirm that both numbers ending in *** and *** are 10.50 per monnth after discounts, and the discounts are now open ended on both lines. Please don t hesitate to contact us with any further queries on 191. Regards *** Vodafone Returns

    And?
My understanding was that the problem was with the unlimited calls, not with the discounts/price.
  • It was with that. The unlimited calls are add-ons which normally charged for but it was agreed that I would not be charged extra and be included hence why they had to discount it.

Keep that somewhere safe, you might need it when the next bill comes in and they "forget" to apply the discount.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail
