    Hi there,
There are a number of banks that will accept you, Nationwide, Barclays, and the Co Op will all give you basic accounts.

If you want a visa debit card, Citibank will provide this to Discharged Bankrupts. You can read more about it here:

Morning people I was just wondering how long after being made br that your bills should stop arriving Egg and alliance and leiscster seemed to have stopped bothering me, but the halifax and mnba keep sending me cc bills and threatining letters although they have acknowlodged im br:confused:

Was hoping this new year to be a new start, and to have seen an end to these letters. Should as tight jock suggested, I send them to the or and let them deal with it?

    Hi monkey.

Our OR told us to send them all to him. At the end of the day the debt is now his - not yours.

  • just a note guys i had to ring my OR last week as i was still getting letters from nat west even though i went BR in nov last year and it turns out that for some reason even though they were listed on all paperwork that the OR had over looked them and not made any contact with them

I have sent the or an email today regarding these letters. just got another from MBNA.....

Please note that on 10/1/07 Mbna europe banktransferred your account to Max recovery limited. your account will be administered on behalf of Max recovery LTDD by eversheds llp solicitors.

For the advoidance of doubt we will be dealing direct with your Nominee/supervisor/ trustee in bankruptcy as required in law and it is unlikely you will be contacted by us again.

So I assume they realise I am br I hope?

Really starting to get stressed out now, only recently returned to work after months of with anxiety/depression and all these letters arent helping.

A friend of mine opened an account with co-op over the phone last week, he went BR last year. They actually approved him there and then.

  • I am worried about the OR and my rent. I rent a flat from 2 of my closest and oldest friends - they are my surrogate parents! I have not told them about the BR, I didn't know what to say. The thing is, we don't have any kind of rental agreement and so other than bank statements showing a regular standing order, I can't actually prove anything. I would give anything for my landlords not to find out, cos they live directly opposite me! I think they will be really cross with me about this, cos it's a big black mark against their property isn't it?
