Hello everyone,
I am new here, well often read threads but have never posted before eek! This seems like the perfect thread for me - I am struggling with the motivation to do household chores. Mental health up and down over the years, not great at the moment so some lovely friendly people with motivational tips and ideas will be really fantastic!
Look forward to "meeting" you all, enjoy the rest of your weekends xxxxIt'll likely be the prospect of another long dark winter...
That and life being so samey. Not really a black dog though...
You do help, anyway. All of you. Just being here *mwah*
Oh and back to work tomorrow *sigh* so that too.
Still, Christmas term - best place to work with Christmas coming;)
I often feel blue on Sundays anyway - all the frogs not yet munched and all that!
We're on the last of the weekend chores that Mr LW has to help me with, now; he's just given the car it's weekly once-over - checked the tyres, washer bottle, oil, made sure the lights are all clean and working, that sort of thing.:o I think we might see about dins in a minute - egg'n'chips for us today.
I'll only be doing the daily S&S jobs next week, but I'll try and pop my head round the door here if I get chance.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all!
Big muddy hugs to valli xxxx
We've just been to a local farmers market and bought meat and fish for the month. It was a really good one so definitely worth going. Now waiting for monthly tesco shop but had a text saying they were going to be an hour late! Hope they're not later than that as we're supposed to be going out and we really need food and basics! Ah well, no use stressing.
Going to make piles of everyones gibble and threaten to set fire to it unless they put it away though I might be kinder to DD as she cleaned the kitchen as she wanted to bake. DH and DS are currently gutting fish over the sink so their job is to clean it afterwards. I don't do fish innards!
Hopefully we'll all go for a walk later if the food arrives.
Hugs to you all and welcome Bex xx0 -

All the brass polished ready to go on tomorrow - RSI giving me gib now though, ho hum.
Time for a cuppa and to put the wm on again oh and shout at DS1 he is better now but is he getting on with all the coursework he is behind with? What do you think and guess who's premenstrual. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Been to Mr M's and bought stuff for lunch and the chilli-non-carne I'm making for the INSET buffet tomorrow. We have two vegetarians on the staff and I like it even though I'm a carnivore;)
(Always amuses me that I once went out with the family to a restaurant and on the menu was vegetarian chilli-con-carne - well if it's con-carne it's hardy veggie, is it?)
Many thanks for the hugs etc - when I do get 'blue' it makes me realise what a horrible illness 'proper' depression must be - and I appreciate my optimism - because there are times in my life when without it I would have given up, I'm sure.
Drove past ex-MIL1 and saw one of her sons (the sensible one, to whom I was not married!) doing some work on her house. For about two years she has had 'cardboard' window panes and suddenly massive amounts of money have been spent bringing the house up to date - new windows, repairs and skip after skip after skip. How sad that this couldn't have been done when my ex FIL was housebound following a stroke - no heating, desperately needed repairs (and a declutter on a par with life laundry would be needed) so they could have had some warmth and comfort. I don't know what's happened inside though (can't see in;)).Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

How do you recommend starting? I'm a total geek and love charts and stickers even though I'm 26 years old!! I'm thinking about making a chart or printing off the chores list so I can give myself some gold stars when I get things done (seriously geeky I know)....
How did you all start with this? Any suggestions/ideas very welcome xxx0 -
Hi Everyone, only came on here first time last week and just want to say a big thank you, my house is so much tidier than before. I lacked motivation, but getting little bits down after work just normally level one maybe 2, made so much difference. i normally just sit down after i come in from work after dinner and dishes and washing done, but i have been cleaning up and its made such a difference!. Today my 16 year old, decided to clear out the understairs cupboard, porch and a drawer cupboard in the hall, where everything gets thrown into and never seen again!! x
Welcome Bex! x0
