  • still in the midst of birthday celebrations here - but just popping in to say hi!

DS nearly burned the place down yesterday. He takes the bathroom mirror into our room to check his hair - and he left it on the desk. DD2 was sorting her stuff in there yesterday afternoon and I was 'advising' when I noticed puffs of smoke - sun was bouncing off the mirror and OH's suit trousers were about to go up in smoke...

    Congratulations mumofjusttwo - brilliant news.

Just made lobby for dinner while Dh has hoovered up. We were supposed to be going to Blackpool to day but it doesn't look like that's happening now.

    Have a good day all

Afternoon all, wet and dull here today..:(

WM and DW both been on the go all morning. Clean clothes all folded and put away. DD away with mum for some shopping and boys all watching the football.

Tent has finally been took down and emptied, it's now hanging over the washing line. Right i suppose i best get the utility and kitchen finished..

Mumofjusttwo, well done on the job.
    pigpen lovely photo.
Lil_me it's great to see you back.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

The plasterer has finished the hall, and the utility room is being out back together (although they need to either replace or extend the waste pipe as they've raised the sink and remembered everything apart from that). I'm hoping they'll finish soon so I can clear up... I need to be able to put stuff back in there. I have to clean the newly painted bedroom too and start moving stuff back in there so the plasterer can come back on Thursday.

Made a huge vat of cauliflower and flageolet bean soup last night, so need to be able to get to the freezer to put that, pheasant stock and lamb casserole away. Beef casserole is in the SC.

Dry cleaning has been collected and mother delivered to spend the day with grandchildren. We have also bought the tiles for her to have her shower retiled (my dad just wanted to do the bath with the ones left from my bathroom, but I think we have now outmanoeuvered him :D)

New diet is going OK so far... Supplement is grim :(
I am so looking forward to the house not being covered in dust...

Lil_me hello and welcome back :D
DK I hope DS is feeling better soon.
    pigpen I love your photo.
LW I loved reading your long story about yesterday. I do sympathise with your GD going on mat leave. It is so difficult to find someone who understands. I hope the new people are good to you. I too have had suggestions about changing meds but I am on a bit of a level and am frightened of tipping the boat.
    mumofjusttwo Hurrray!! And well done.

Today I am resting but keeping moving a bit too. GP says I have arthritis in my spine. Oh joy! I could have done without something else. I am hoping he is wrong and it is muscle strain. I watched DD cleaning the cottage next door and am now sorting photos for Facebook.
