Beahappy it will get easier. Routine will help, clearing clutter will help. Once things are clean they take less time to keep clean. Have you got a morning and evening routine?

I'm having a trip down memory lane and reading some of the thread from 2006/2007 - gee some of us have been doing this a long time!

  • DustyKitten, no routine (oh god i sound useless dont i?) mornings are one great big rush and evenings, well by time I get home, cook dinner, wash up, put washing on, general tidy, etc, etc, dont seem to have much time to actually clean the house. everyone else seems to, so i dont see where i am going wrong? x

If you read the thread you'll find most of us don't... But start slowly and gradually things will improve... You'll be cleaning fewer layers of grime off each time :)

So maybe try to start with one new thing each morning and evening this week to build a habit, e.g. Folding the bedding back neatly in the morning to air, clearing the breakfast table, bunging disinfectant down the loo before bed and getting lunches made for the next day.

I'm always stunned by how much my occasional cleaner gets done when she comes... In four hours she transforms the place, and then (when the house isn't being covered in plaster dust daily!) I can keep on top of things... So she too ends up getting more done each time (bookcases and windows this time) even though she comes around once a month, as she can only get here when someone else cancels...

Mrs g .. most of us had a short and horrifying trip over to the "flylady" site.. it had smartings of psychosis from my 2 day venture and I scarpered pretty darn fast.. I couldnt shine my sink.. it is white.. and I dont wear shoes if I can help it.. and my hair gets brushed maybe once a week if I can catch it.. and I wear makeup if I do.. We dont work like they do over there.. we have lives and families and work and have health issues which need to be taken into account and limit our time hugely. We are also friendly and lovely and no militant or agressive (is it just me found that site aggressive? I may just be sensitive!) anyway.. you are very welcome o come over here and tie your shoes and shine your sink all your lightbulbs and Rudolphs nose.. we would just be happy to have you! :D

Baby vomitted her way through 4 complete sets of clothes, 5 blankets, 7 muslin square and a brand new footmuff... and she is a limpet!

huge WM and TD on again.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Need to drag myself out of bed :( can't wait for all this work to finish so I can have a lie-in at some point!

Have to drop off my dry cleaning this morning and get some taps for the utility room and a new loo seat for the bathroom which I've needed for weeks.

    Morning All

Well I have got lots I want to do today as I've got a pretty much kid-free day. The whole house is like a bombsite and needs sorting plus I've got washing and ironing to be done.

    Anyone fancy a HHC @ 8?

    Have a good day all
