Rained on a few times here too.

Cleaning the dyson filters made a huge difference. Really clean carpets downstairs. I need to empty and fill the DW, and refill the WM. Must do the S&S of bathrooms too as DH has a visitor tomorrow. Cant do much about the thin layer of plaster dust over everything though. Is it bed time yet?

Reminder to self - create a new drain guard.

I have plaster dust too :( but no more hole in the ceiling :j one room is done  but the landing and stairs need doing, then downstairs where he's just going to tidy it up, and then the other bedroom. Which is currently full of stuff that I need to move into the other room (remember I can't out anything on the landing, or in the hall AND I need to work. I might ask him to put it off until I get back from my next work trip.

Utility room is in bits. Floor has been levelled with a screed, which is now drying. Machinery is blocking access to all cupboards (it was blocking access to the freezer, but I've solved that as I need to eat). Plumbing is being done on Saturday morning, so hopefully I will have a washing machine, TD and DW soon after that. I need to clean the dryer hose outlet, dryer hose and backs of the machines before they go back in. My ancient WM still has a hot fill as well as cold, so hot washes are cheap using gas-heated water :D

During all this the cleaner managed to get the bathroom, my bedroom, the loo, the living room and accessible bits of the kitchen cleaned. Including the windows, the loo window frame as the blind is down and we emptied 3 bookcases, killed the spiders, cleaned the shelves and I've just finished putting the books back (having cleared out a few books and DVDs I no long want/need).

So despite all the work, the house is mostly clean. I need to rehome a pile of coats before I can go to bed, and I know I will have people annoying me in the house for the rest of this week and too much of next, but it's starting to come together!

More importantly, I managed to get out at lunch and have a cuddle with my day-old niece :D

... Oh... And I did some work... ;)

Greenbee how close is your tank to your washer? My plumber told me that even my hot fill would only fill with cold due to the distance the water had to travel, the machine would have enough water before the hot came through.

Kitchen just about done for the night, one stubborn pan soaking.

Having HH on here then WM on and bed.

Thinking about the route the pipes take, about 15ft, but they are well lagged and usually full of hot water as when I'm washing I have usually run the tap next to the machine. And the hot water pressure is nearly as good at the mains pressure downstairs, so it should work out OK.

Hope you manage a nice early night dusty :D

  • Landing already perfect. My bedroom not so much, but it'll do for another couple of days.

Minion suitably physiotherapied for another fortnight.

She slept rather well on her new memory foam topper - and the physio says that not only does she approve totally of buying it, she's jealous :)

Continued to curry favour with her by buying single use hairdye for Halloween/Samhain - (and something a little less temporary for myself :D), a bat charm for her mobile, another nose stud for myself and a new backpack for school as she wants to protect her back when carrying stuff. It's a gothic cat. And it has mp3 speakers built in. Silly money, but she can't use a cheapie as they break or dig into her back too easily.

She opted for a ding dinner (her name for cook/chill/microwave junk :)), so all I have to do now is go downstairs once I have found my slippers (my feet are really cold for the first time this autumn) and cook my dinner.

She will be assisting with food shopping tomorrow. And the mountain of clothes on the TD WILL be leaving for the safety of her wardrobe.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • evening all. not worked off the lists today coz i had solicitors and a grumpy child but i cleaned the fishes and lost 3 in total today :(. my nitrogen cycle is taking longer to kick in than it should so im on daily water changes till it does and starving the fishies for a couple days. bird also got cleaned out. done a load of washing and ran out of washing liquid. i normally have one or 2 bottles spare but it seems i didnt buy any last time they were on offer and ive now used up my store so its a good job i didnt strip the beds today too coz then i would have washing piling up over my bedroom. Mr A has daz on special - a massive box for £4 so i might go back to powder and just hope that DS2 doesnt react to it.

ill try to get back on list tomorrow but ive to go to Mr A and into town for some bird seed. hope the weathers better tomorrow.
  • started this yesterday and was rather pleased with myself. today did level one and two. sorted out another charity bag, one bedroom wardrobe and 3 kitchen cupboards. Any advice on how to keep on top of all housework when you work full time? thanks x
