You haven't learnt anything or are taking the micky.

Good luck trying to con the next person who offers you a service.

You really are remarkably rude. In short up yours.

I cannot agree. If you had come along in the middle of my job and messed with it then I'd also be checking your work, re-working where necesssary and charging you extra too.

Sorry but that is complete crap. Would you really expect a job to have a gap of almost TWO MONTHS between the first part, and the second part? And given that this is in a house being decorated, would you really expect the owner not to touch any socket or switch plate during this time? If that is how you work, then I think you live on another planet. I did not touch any socket in the kitchen, and I was not told to not touch any socket elsewhere. Some of your easlire posts are plain bloody rude. You basically said I was an idiot because I did not understand the regs. BS. I am not an electrician, and I should not have to understand the regs. A project manager should assume the customer is ignorant, and tell them not to touch sockets OUTSIDE of the kitchen, as well as inside, if they should be left. Once the kitchen was done, I was sometimes living in the house. So much for it being a building site.

So you are basically saying I should sit on my hands waiting for these people to do the second part? In truth these people were paid a fortune, they did not get the sockets ready for the fitter who had to run after them, they mucked up some of the wiring, and they then charge me for reworking the plates. And they charged me for installing a phone socket in the old airing cupboard, but in reality they replaced an existing electrical socket with a phone socket, without asking me if that was alright.

You need to learn some manners.

No one agrees apart from the ones who haven't got a clue.

You are full of crap. You have made numerous assumptions, such as all 5 sockets being on a ring, when they weren't. I started this thread because two electricians on another forum said I was being conned. Your earlier posts are rude and condescending. Just because someone does not understand the regs does not make them an idiot, or give you the right to talk down to them.:mad::mad:

    No
Your argument is flawed big style. And so is your understanding of Part P & the responsibilities of the electrician.

The above is the sort of rude arrogant post from you that I object to. Is it not plain bloody obvious that I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE REGS. If I did, I would not need to ask a question here. I would have thought that was obvious to anyone. Or are you too thick to realise that? And you are too ill mannered to either ignore the thread, or offer advise without being rude.:mad::mad:

So far on this thread you have ignored everything that you don't like.

You have called at least 3 people rude because you don't like what they say.

You do not even want to know anything other than what you want to hear.

You have had at least 3 qualified people post on here explaining why but you brush over it all.

Let me tell you one thing. If you did muck about with the installation without letting anyone know or asking (which you did just go ahead & do it without talking to anyone) he is perfectly within his rights to bill you extra or alternatively disable the whole installation, bill you for everything he did & then you pay someone else to sort it.

Bull !!!!. I have absolutely no idea what your knowledge is. You have made statements based on assumptions picked out of thin air. You started off insulting me for not knowing the regs, when that fact would have been obvious to an idiot.

But you keep ignoring statements that I make.

You do not comment on the two month gap. So, how is a client supposed to know that they are 'interfering with the electricians job' as you put it? How is someone who is decorating a house supposed to know that they cannot touch a socket plate for TWO MONTHS?

And you did not comment on whether or not it is acceptable for the circuits to be tested only at the start, and then not retested two months later, but just certified. Some electricians on another site have said that would be very iffy. Or do you disagree? I think it is because anything could have happened without there knowledge, unless they had told the owner NOT to touch any electric item, which WAS NOT the case.

As I said earlier, several electricians on another site told me I was being conned, that they did not need to rework the sockets.

    Are you an electrician?

What some people do not realise that part of the job of a project manager is to deal with the customer, and let them know what is going on when. I find it near impossible to speak with the project manager, as he is so evasive.

The difference is that you started being rude to me from much earlier on in the thread (you were rude from the outset). I have ignored your rudeness, but now it is getting on my nerves, and I am so thoroughly !!!!ed off with your arrogant pompous style, that I have decided to tell you to go to hell.

I suggest you go back & read your own thread.

It seems you have just concentrated when someone has said they are ripping you off.

What is this 2 month thing?

Its not 2 months, as you well know, and have been told. He left his testing until the end of the kitchen work & you well know it.
