Well, one of my survey sites invited me to join a Think Tank and I am really glad that they did. 50 points equals a £5 Amazon voucher and the points are really easy to amass. You can only claim one voucher a month mind but it is better than nothing. I mean - a fiver a month is £60 a year and you can buy a lot of stuff from Amazon for that amount of money.

I bought my outfit for mums funeral today. This came out of a different pot of money and not my tenner a day. Having said that, I spent £45 yesterday on a tank of petrol. I have a Morrisons petrol card so the points went on there. Tbh, I buy petrol from the petrol station that I am closest to when the warning light comes on. The card is handy to have but isn't the be all and end all if you know what I mean. Anyway, I have £255 to last the payday month.

Oh yeah, I am also one fifth of the way of hitting my £2 savers challenge. I am pleased with this as I had such a rubbish start to the year.

Get in there! Just got my first £5 Amazon voucher from the ThinkTank. Not adding it to my signature until it is safely in my inbox. Wow, if I carry on like this then I shall have to review my end of Easter target two months early! woohoo!

£3.99 from Topcashback today. I was wondering why I wasn't receiving my cashback. Didn't think that they would need my paypal address!! Doh!
  • Can you PM me the Think Tank web address? I've just googled but can't seem to find it anywhere

Thanks to the brainboxes that post on MSE I have found a way of converting my old ink cartridges into cash. Just waiting for the envelopes to arrive and I will have about £30 winging its way to me :)

The Amazon voucher from the thinktank plopped into my inbox this morning - kerching! It's valid for a year so I am saving it. Also got another £2 to add to my collection.

Was my first day back at work today. It was a bit strange tbh because people are a bit funny when someone dies. They just don't know how to respond to death. Sad really ...

Ok - survey time. Wish me luck

ETA: One survey took almost two hours to complete! arghh!!

I have £86 in my bank account. I transferred £13.99 from my paypal acount earlier and a cheque for £67.20 (expenses) arrived this morning. This brings the grand total to £167.19. I have a mobile phone bill of £36.16 coming out in the next few days. This leaves me with £131.03 to last 21 days. I can do it. I forgot about my tenner a day rule ... :(

I am £1.01 from hitting my end of Easter goal.

In other news I am ruddy freezing! Brrrr!!! Mum's funeral went really well. We had a good turn out, the service ran smoothly and her coffin was beautiful. I have gone back to work as well. I'm ok but I am questionning whether or not I want to take the same route into work for the next 30 years. There must be more to life.

Pay day in 20 days and counting. Just realised that I am off for a week in the last week of this payday month -woohoo! Ten more get ups. I know that I have had a few weeks off but I dunno ... my mum was in the same line of work as me and it's just weird. I'll be fine.

This week is pretty full on. I have a lot on - starting with the drive in tomorrow. I hope that all the snow and ice melts away in the night! I'm ok driving in adverse weather conditions but muppet drivers frighten me because you can bet your bottom dollar that they have no insurance and drive too fast - eek!

    Goals
    Eat out of the freezer
    Earlish nights
    As many NSDs as possible

So sorry for your loss. Well done you for keeping focused and motivated through what must be such a difficult time.

Here's hoping the rest of 2012 will be happier xx

Thanks - it is just very surreal at the moment. Very weird. I mean, we knew that it was coming - we just didn't think that it would be so soon.

Anyhoo, week two of this payday month began on Friday 2nd and will end on Saturday 11th and today is my fourth NSD. NSDs are easy when you have no money to spend. I will need to go food shopping at some point this week and a list is in the process of being made.

I ate out of the freezer tonight and dinner was lush. I love my homemade ready meals because I just don't have to think about what to cook when I get home from work. I just stick it in the microwave and listen for the ping. The minimal washing-up is the brucie bonus :)

I did some work for the Thinktank tonight. I am doing an extra thing for it and I should, touch wood, receive £15 in Amazon vouchers this month instead of a fiver. I have decided to save all of my vouchers and put them towards an ipad.

I was planning on going to the gym tonight but I don't fancy driving in the snow and ice. I don't want to have an accident so I think that I shall snuggle up with my blankie and think of other ways of making/saving some much needed money.

pound shops are a joke, aren't they? You go in there, hoping to spend one English pound and you always end up spending a helluva lot more! I spent twelve to be precise and the girl on the counter gave me a dodgy pound and I had to hang around because she 'couldn't open up the till' urghh!

I also spent £33 in Mr S. Both purchases involved impulsiveness and a hungry tum. Eek! I need to update my spending diary in a min.

I have a mystery shop booked for Friday. I can't retire on it but it is a start. Some people on here make a few hundred quid a month doing mystery shops and I haven't the faintest idea how they do it. I have registered with a few agencies but I only get the odd job from one of them. Maybe I'm just not lucky enough!

Anyway, it is top-of-the-hill Wednesday tomorrow. All downhill from there :)

I have £80 to last fifteen days and I have to get petrol, pick up a prescription and get through Valentines Day - eek! It should be doable (I hope).

I am aiming to spend nothing this weekend. Nothing. Nadda. Not a penny.
