Friday night was great! I spend just under £30 and was home just after midnight. Ohhh my sides were aching due to laughing too much :)

Saturday: Spent £4.50 on bread, butter and pop at the corner shop. Expensive I know but I'd rather spend that than succumb to temptation at the supermarket.

    Sunday: NSD :)

Today: I caught the train into town for a medical appointment but ended up getting the bus back because there were problems on the line and I didn't fancy hanging around on a heaving platform. I also spent a tenner on the market and £40 in TK Maxx (I need to ban myself from that shop!)

My plans for the rest of the week is to chill out and relax (and catch up on the housework - shh!). I also want to do as many surveys as I. Now, where is my blankie??

Tuesday - ran some errands but not one penny (or my debit card) left my purse. W00t.
Wednesday - I stayed in all day and nearly drove myself crackers at the same time. I didn't spend any money.

Today - once I have had a bath and uploaded a couple CDs onto my iPod I'm going to wander over to the garden centre. I need fresh air and I'm bored out of my tree.

I get paid tomorrow *happy dance*

I have updated my signature today because I was paid for the two mystery shop jobs that I did. It was a surprise because I had convinced myself that I had done something wrong and wouldn't get paid.

I was also paid today and I have updated my spending diary and paid my bills. I know that December is an expensive month but I am shocked as to how much that I have spent. I am disgusted with myself tbh. Anyway, my overdraft has gone but I am only left with £200 to last the payday month and my car is due its MOT and service towards the end of January.

I'm just going to take each day as it comes. My OH is off work now and next week is going to be a huge test of character for me because I always seem to spend more money when I am with him. I can do it - I just need to try really hard.

I paid some money off my CC bill. I wasn't able to pay the whole lot off but I managed more than the minimum. My bill was £480 and I paid £134. This means that I have £346 outstanding. My other CC had a balance of £49 and I paid all of it.

I have two mystery shop jobs to do this afternoon but I won't be paid for it until next month. I don't like including the amount until it has reached my bank account. I also received a payment of £10.92 from Quidco which was unexpected. I can't really type what I think of Quidco here because I would probably end up being banned. I think that they are the biggest rip off merchants going - always making promises that they don't keep. I have signed up with topcashback and I am holding my breath with them as well.

I have a couple surveys to do in my inbox but I will have to do them later because time is against me.

One of my other end of year goals was ebay but all of the horror stories on this forum have really put me off so I haven't bothered with it. Much easier to give my old belongings to the charity shop.

I also found an old ASDA receipt (in my house - I'm not at the stage where I need to go wombling!) so I typed in the details and was given a voucher for £1.58 for my troubles. I also found a winning scratch card for £2. This means that I have £3.58 to put in my money box. I do empty my purse of coins on a regular basis but I read in another diary of a great idea of putting the money saved on BOGOFs and the like in the supermarket and depositing the coins in a money box. This would work for me because I do better when I have something visible to see and hold. Virtual piggie banks just don't do it for me.

Anyway, it is Christmas Eve tomorrow. I want to get a few stocking fillers for my OH - a choccy orange for his stocking for starters. I will see what goodies I can find in the poundshop :)

I'm slowly getting sozzled whilst being waited on by my OH. Lucky moi!!

I achieved another voucher on shop n scan yesterday and the two mystery shops were easy peasy to do *and* didn't take too long to write up.

Today wasn't an NSD as I treated us both to breakfast out. It was less than a tenner though.

You, too :) I had a fab Christmas and was very spoilt :)

We are going to the sales today. Repeat after me:

    I mustn't, I mustnt, I mustn't spend my dosh!

    ETA

Ended up spending just over a tenner on lunch and I used some of my vouchers to buy a pair of yummy looking shoes.

My OH bought me a kindle for Christmas and, ignoring the book I bought accidentally *facepalm*, I have been reading the samples that you can download for free. One paragraph in particular struck a chord with me. This is it:

Step Five: Save your savings. If you save money on groceries, what happens to it? Do you spend it somewhere else? You should save your savings. Immediately write out a cheque to your savings account for the money that you have saved. This ensures that the sacrifices you have made in cutting back really pay off. If you don't save it, it isn't really saved money ...

Now, this is similar to what I mentioned a few posts back but, purlease, am I really going to stick £2.21 (or whatever I have saved in my money box)??! Am I he ll!

What I have done is added two pages to this months spending diary as all savings are to be thrown at the OD. This months spending diary looks like this:
    week one
    week two
    week three
    week four
    supermarket savings
    supermarket vouchers.

The weeks in my diary don't have seven days in them because there aren't 28 days in a payday month. A week in my spending diary is 30 or 31 days divided into four.

    :hello: Hello Flacosfloozie :hello:

Well ... I did go to the sales (but only yesterday and after I was feeling very sorry for myself - damn medical appointments). I only went to two shops and bought new clothes for work - just work pants and shoes and some gym clothes.

I very rarely pay full price for clothes anyway. I also did heaps of online shopping but I didn't make it to checkout. You know, I used to have a huge problem with online shopping but the only shopping I do these days is for groceries and even then I have to be armed with money off coupons. I guess that I am learning!

I did a few surveys this morning but I was screened out :( I also received some mystery shopping invites but they were for buying and eating takeaway food. I have two lined up for January anyway and I just can't face more deep fried chicken. I want to lose weight - not put it on!!! Anyway, I only do MS if the location is where I am going to be on that day/time because it would be wasting petrol otherwise and you have to factor in travelling costs into the fee.

I have decided to rename my diary because of the ole cliche --> 2012 will be *my* year. I *will* reclaim the domestic goddess crown (wonky or not) and I will make a dayum good attempt into clearing my debt. I want it gone.

I want to continue to re-educate myself and become a financial whizz! Just because I grew up with parents who frittered their pennies away and let it trickle through their fingers like grains of sand doesn't mean that the same has to be for me. I need to remember that money doesn't burn holes in pockets, it has to stay there instead!!!

I want to be healthy, fit and keep the worry lines at bay.

I know that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I don't believe in the need to keep up with the Jones' but I do want to walk down the street with my head held high safe in the knowledge that I don't have a neon flashing arrow above my head pointing out to the world that I am rubbishy with money and up to my eyeballs in debt.

    Anyhoo!

Today ... Well I was meant to be going out tonight but my plans were cancelled at the last minute. I had drawn my spending money out so instead so I have hidden it in my house and shall put it towards my £365 in 365 days challenge.

The next few days should be NSDs - fingers crossed!!
