I take it you are one of many on the scheme who can walk then? Coz if you are in a chair and the driver what car for 15 grand will work
I do not use a chair but it takes me 10-15 minutes to wark 25 metres but I have said the cars should have a limit not the WAV vehicles which if you read the changes are not going to have the limits changed.
The cars are meant for the disabled person who has undergone a very long form with Drs reports not to run their families around.
I am for the savings this country has to make and why do families need £35000 cars to do transport for the disabled person do you need big cars to do shopping pick prescriptions up No0 -

A wav costs over 40 grand ! A sharan costs 28 ! Simple maths! Perhaps motabilty should be for only people who cannot walk only! Then us in chairs and the driver can all have drive from wheelchair wavs !0 -

I would not agree with that the criteria is unable to walk or virtually unable to walk and if you fullfil that criteria you get awarded DLA higher rate mobility.
You then decide how to spend the money
If you need a WAV vehicle the limits are not being changed so the people who need them are not being effected
If a car is suitable and you can manage with a normal car there are plenty of cars on the market that can provide the disabled person with a means of staying mobile. My car was provided with hand controls which was supplied with a £99 AD0 -
Is there evidence that clamping down on fiddlers will result in more for those genuine. I very much doubt it, its more to do with saving money0

BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIFT YOUR WHEELCHAIR in through the drivers door across your body then put it on the back seat . So I need a big car, I do not want a wav which would cost me. Many thousands of pounds more0 -
Why should motorbility be for those wheel chair bound? Just because it may suit you why deny those who are unable to walk far, motoability criteria is for those who are in receipt of high rate dla in repective of whether they walk or wheel chair bound.A wav costs over 40 grand ! IF I HAD TO LIFT A WHEELCHAIR ACROSS THE CAR AS YOU ARE SAYING i would get a WAV vehicle and the changes to the scheme would not be applying to me anyway0 -

I'm not saying that .I am returning a flippant view without considering other people like the other poster , a 15 grand small car suits him but would not work for me that's my point, the cheapest car for my needs cost 28 grand a/p of 27500 -

Have to ever meet a paraplegic ? I know lots and none of us have chose wavs because of the cost and we can have a large car for less ap , when I'm old I will get a wav but I'm in my 30s and not ready to roll over yet0
