  • The dress i love is 2nd hand but the girl selling it wants £1200 for it **gulp** she paid over £3000 for it. Its by a designer called Dizzie Lizzie. I cant post links being a newbie or i would put a picture up of it. Its a real princess dress

I have been looking on ebay & some of the Dizzie Lizzie ones on there (not the one i want) are around £400 & there not selling, so i wont make my money back when selling it on :-( Its such a beautiful dress although i didnt want to spend £1000 ona dress its such a lot of money. I was going to hire one but then worry it wont fit like a glove as they cant alter it... I need to go & try dresses on really as although in my head i "think" i no what i want once it is on i may change my mind.....

Im 1/2 tempted to send over a picture of it to one of these companies in China & get them to make me the dress for a fraction of the price i have heard of a few people get there dresses from China & been very pleased...
    Getting married Sat 1st September.
Saving like mad for the next 40 weeks

There's also been several tales of brides who have been devastated when their copy arrives made in cheap material, poorly cut, badly trimmed. Please be careful

I never tried on a single dress, I met with Linda (No 9 Bridal Couture, used to be a regular on here) and had her make me this bespoke gown which I love so much. Paid not much more than paying for a gown off the high street and having it altered
  • I have been reading through the thread and the old thread, and this is aimed at anybody who bought their dress from ebay - from a china seller who make the dresses to order - some people say they were really happy with the dress and yet don't ID of the seller they bought their dress from.
Can you help the rest of us out and post the sellers ID and whether you would recommend or not recommend them? Perhaps with a picture of the dress recieved?

    Thankyou all!!

  • I bought my dress at the beginning of the year without having set a wedding date just because I fell in love with it. It was £50 from monsoon in the sale. Unfortunately I am pregnant at the moment and it will in no way shape or form fit me lol so I have work to do after the baby is born to fit into it by December next year lol

    £40 and free delivery!

I love it. It's a gorgeous, creamy ivory colour, with clear sequins and beads, in satin.

You can't see it online anymore (sold out)
But they will be getting more in in May next year, if anyone wants a look. Original price - £90 and worth more, imo.

I tried a £300 dress on in a shop and I couldn't move, due to the weight and many layers.

Mine is light and comfy and still has a net layer. Just enough to hold it's shape.

Bargain! My bridesmaid dresses will come from there too!

Just to echo what other people have said......order from China at your peril! I know some people have great experiences, but my own personal experience was terrible.

It wasn't my dress....im not getting married for a couple of years, but it was when i was chief bm last year for a friend. She had her heart set on a very expenseive Maggie Sottero dress, and so ordered on from China. When it came, I thought it was a joke ..... it was quite a big dress but the packagin it came it was ridiculous, smaller than what you would expect a pair of jeans to come in...then despite being measured by a seamstress, it needed lots of alterations...thereby using some of the money she had saved by ardering from abroad.

She ordered the bms dresses too and the first set that arrived were dreadful...they are fiiten satin with an overlayer of floaty chiffon, but the two materials used were entirely different shades that just clashed terribly.....not to mention the chest of my dress which could quite easily have fitted a pair of watermelons in, despite me being more of the fried egg variety. Not a very calming experience...quite stressful tbh.

I would say if you really can't afford the dress of your dreams, don't settle for second best with it....the copies miss all the detail and beautiful features which is probably why you fell in love with it in the first place. My advice would be to look in sample sales etc...there will be something in this country to suit budgets!
