£40 wedding dress

This was posted on another forum and I instantly thought of the lovely ladies who are trying to have an MSE wedding!

Currently only available in 14, 20 and 22. Looks quite nice for the price. There is also a mauve bridesmaids dress in the sale too.

I have seen this in the flesh as we have a Roman Originals outlet store near us, it is lovely for the money, although it's not the same as a designer wedding dress IMHO.
I LOVE the bolero that goes with it, but it's just the wrong colour for my dress. Boo. :(
Some of the website pictures do not do the dresses justice... Mum has bought hers for my wedding from there, but it's MUCH nicer than it looks... she wouldn't have bought it based on the website picture!

  • Great offer and super feedback from you two! It must surely help an MSE bride :)

    Roman original dresses are lovely.
I tried on a black and white strapless dress from them. It was made really well and gave me a lovely shape.

I will keep my eye out for my bridesmaids dresses

    Thanks!

I agree with emz, the photos don't do them justice. I would have it for my wedding, but they haven't got it in my size

Or would a 20 be able to be altered for a 16?

I am tempted to go for it at that price!

just looked at the reviews and some say it is on the small sze, so it might be ok on me! very very tempted to just order it and see!
  • I've ordered the 20. Thank you for the post about this dress.

I hope it wll be ok. I got free delivery too, so nothing lost if I have to send it back
  • I remember hearing that depending on the dress they can slim a dress down 4 sizes. Just be careful on where you get your alterations, some are very cheap and some aren't, which would miss the point!

Thank you! I am quite handy with a needle and thread, so will see if I can do t, otherwise, I will get a seamstress to do it.
Or eat more cake and fill it out!
  • aarchk Thank you :j
My dress arrived today and it's perfect!
It looks better than the £300 dress that I tried on in BHS.
It's light, but has a net petticoat underneath, to puff it out a bit.

    I LOVE IT!

No problem getting it pulled in a bit. The seam runs under the arm, so I can do it, or get someone else to do it for me!

    WHOO HOO!

The pictures don't do it justice
