You're one of the 'entitled to' generation so I guess you should get a sea view at least.0 -

So now i am part of the entitled to generation am i.
Does this now mean the amount of tax i have paid over the years does no longer have any bearing on what piece of land i would like ?
Everybody should get a piece of land to build a shelter on dont you think, or do you prefer the current system of the banks, councils, governments hoarding land to make a massive profit on at some point.
Bear in mind we are sat on a wet rock hurtling through space.0 -

Don't worry I'm also part of the entilted to generation, but I opted out.
Everyone should have the right to shelter, however it's not a basic human right to actually own that shelter.0 -

Well, what do you think makes an expectation realistic or unrealistic - what do you judge it by?homelessskilledworker wrote: »Even in this thread I have had a poster tell me in a roundabout way that I should lower my expectations. I should maybe travel 300 miles a day, get a third job and sell a kidney, and then live in the worse run down place fit for man, GET STUFFED AND WHY SHOULD I!!.
People might have all sorts of ideas about what they expect from various situations, but at the end of the day the world is what's real. Whether you expect to be able to live in a 5-bedroom house in central London for £100 a month, or whether you expect you'll need £2k a month for a bedsit in Market Rasen - what determines if these expectations are reasonable or not?
When it comes down to it, what you can expect is governed by reality, and not the other way round. There are no absolute standards of living that are universal truths; it's all based on what you have available to you at a given time.
So as to "why you should" - because, if you find that your expectations are consistently not being met by the real world, then they're out of alignment. (Or the world is wrong and your expectations are right, but even then maintaining the mismatch isn't going to change anything.)0 -

Yes every human being on this wet rock is entitled to shelter.
That shelter has to go on a piece of land, so as i see it we are all entitled to a piece of land to build our shelter on.
Everybody who has a fully paid for house does not own that house, is that what you are saying ?0 -
