Doubt there's any frost in London yet, hope there isn't as I haven't found an indoor home for my pumpkin yet!
I'm going into university soon to print some work before my lecture. In until 3 then off to Lidl to hopefully get a silicone baking tray and a ski jacket. OH needs steel toe caps for his new job so we're hoping they still have a few left in stock.
His new job is possibly the most awkward commute ever, it passes through zones 1-6 then leaves into hertfordshire and costs about £100 a week. Petrol even more! He's considering cycling the whole 24 miles there! He could manage getting there but doesn't think he can quite do the cycle back so is doing a practise cycle today. He might save £100 on train fares but it'll cost £10 a week more to feed him :rotfl:

Almost forgot I have cleaning (kitchen) and vacuuming to do today :(
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Morning folks, hard frost here too = car scraping time again! Will use the scraper as much as possible and keep the de-icer for the severe weather. Back to work today, hope its quiet! Out for lunch with a friend today, so no tea for me, but the rest will be having HM Chicken kiev for tea.
MUst move, hope you all have a good day, and ((Hugs)) to anyone in need.

  • Just got off the phone to sky... they applied a £10 credit to my account last month due to errors, it was an apology for messing me about! The lady on the phone just told me that the extra £10 worth of charged this month was because they had credited my account in 'error' and was taking the money back!

What a kick in the teeth!:mad::mad:

After half an hour she had re-applied my credit because I told her I was in the process of cancelling my DD and they were not getting another penny from me, and if cancellations was closed this early, i'd better speak to her manager! Oh and I read her the apology email I had from sky... poor woman had no chance!

Who thinks there will be another mysterious £10 charge on my account next month????

    Morning everyone

Cloudy and chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early so he brought me a nice cuppa in bed.

Boys up and had brekkie now getting ready to leave, DS1 has college today and DS2 to school. DS1 has a school Rugby match after college so he won't be home until later.

Have load in WM ready to peg out, will do that in a mo, then have all the normal chores to do, housework, washing, drying and ironing, need to do some cooking/baking at some point. Dinner last night was delicious beef stew and dumplings, mash, and veg, tonight I had menu planned for chicken breasts topped with stuffing and wrapped in bacon, but I forgot to get chicken out to defrost but have some smoked sausages and creme fraiche in the fridge so will do smoked sausage pasta tonight and the chicken tomorrow night instead. Will make a loaf of bread later too, to accompany the pasta.

Am going for a haircut shortly, then will pop into local town as have a couple of jobs to do. Need to get to grips with several bits at home, my desk looks like a bomb site, also I have some work to do for the holiday rally for next year. Will be making my Xmas cake next week when I'm off too, so need to get the ingredients sorted and also start looking at what I've already bought for prezzies and what I still need to get. Will be menu planning and writing my shopping list too today.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

    nmlc x

Hi everyone. A really cold start here this morning but the sun is coming up and it looks like it will be a good day. It almost looked frosty on the grass, and last night we toyed with the idea of bringing in the orange and olive trees that we have in pots outside. It had been such a nice day that we didn't think it would be this cold overnight; anyway, we will definitely put them all in the conservatory for the winter.

I have packed DH off to work, and changed the sheets, and I need to make some bread, clean the bathroom and run the hoover around. I think I have a cold starting, so I will get as much done as I can today - I usually end up with a horrid cough that stops me sleeping, so if I can get lots done today, I can take it a bit easier for the rest of the week.

Dinner tonight is pork chops in leek, garlic, and creme fraiche sauce, potatoes and broccoli; pudding will be the poached pears (courtesy of Nigel Slater) that I should have done the other night but I didn't get round to it.

Well, I think I'll start off with a cup of coffee.

    Have a good day, everyone.

    Morning All,

Gosh your an early lot today. It's frosty here as well, but I do love winter so I am not complaining:D
What a shame about all those animals they have shot in America, could they not have tranquilised them.
Enjoyed Kirstie's new programme last night. DH lit a fire and we snuggled up, my idea of bliss;)
Today need to nip to the local market and pick up a Christmas present for mum and dad. I am buying them a new throw for their bed and there is a guy who sells them much cheaper than the shops and good quality.
Also need to use up the roast pork in the fridge, probably do a stew with potatoes and chorizo, then the boys can help themselves after football. Also want to makee some bread.
nmlc do you have a good Christmas cake recipe. I want to make my own this year.
Once all that's done I will carry on stripping the back room.

    Have a good Thursday all J x
