Sorry I missed your birthday too Nora. I hope you had a fab time and that the only counters on your birthday were of the Galaxy variety and not people adding up your young whippersnapperee age.

A bit harsh to throw a jolly nice man into the deep freeze, but if it helps birthday celebrations then I guess you need to do what you need to do!

Right. I need some volunteers to help with the bumps please!

Sounds interesting...*briefly considers holding her breath but remembers what happened last time*
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    Evening 'verse

Gosh, it's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry about that! I promise I've been lurking around the forums (and leaping out to scare people), plus winning the original Feb NSD crown from Lady Freeby (who has since won it back in style...butI had it first this month, and that's what matters!) but haven't really had much I wanted to write about.

    Before I go on...

Thanks to all for the lovely birthday wishes...you do spoil a girl *blushes* I had a wonderful day, all told - surrounded by friends, chocolate and laughter. I was also very lucky to receive rather a lot of amazon vouchers...which means I am the new owner of a rather lovely Kindle....paid for by birthday money! I love books - but with ever decreasing space, I really need to have a better balance between physical copies and room to move! :D

A big thank you and welcome to Baldybear - stick with the counters, they'll grow on you!

Rising - fab to have you on board!

MT - if you and your army come anywhere near me with bump-intent, I will be forced to hurl on you...a lot. 'nuff said. :D

Banwa - what a lovely way to think of it...you may visit here again m'lady *bows*

    Now...onto the MSE news...

Well, first up I should confess that I didn't fall of the MSE wagon...it was more a double backflip whil holding a credit card and cackling....:o

What's different about this time, is that I *ahem* came to quite quickly, took back virtually everything I'd bought and realised that a lot of it had to do with being bored, and feeling as though I was stagnating a bit. So I cuffed myself upside the head (no, I don't need help for that...thanks...*rolls eyes*), and got myself out and about visiting people and doing other bits and pieces.

This apparently pleased the MSE Gods, as on Tuesday this week, I got my ppi cheque from Tescos, received my Tescos clubcard vouchers, got a cheque from Zapper for some things I'd sold, got the remainder of my rental deposit back (more on that in a mo), AND got notice that I'm finally to be given my redundancy - 29th Feb!

Back to 'Depositgate'...given that I was expecting around £21 back from my £1200 deposit (you'll remember the hassle at the time), you can imagine the look on my face when I saw the cheque for over £500!! :D

So, suffice to say that I banked it (and everything else) as quickly as I could!! It should all finally clear tomorrow - at which point I will have paid off my overdraft, PLUS my large and small credit cards! So the only thing remaining for next week is to pay off the last bit of my final loan (around £6.5k) and pop the equiv. of the 8% interest payment from the ppi into a savings account in readiness for HMRC to come a-calling.

Whisper it folks - but provided it all works to plan, I will be completely debt free on 1st March - for the first time in 18 years!! OMG! *runs around like headless chicken* :rotfl:

Righto, that's quite enough from me right now....over to you *cartwheels off*

  • Ooo, plus I discovered my bank now has one of those coin counter machines installed...woo ha ha!!
