    hi Nora, glad to see you back here, sorry to hear about your friends dog, hugs x
    I'm definitely trying to readopt my prior MSE ways as I'm about to go on half pay for a few months due to the arrival of a little miss LT a month ago.

    You had a mini LT?!! That's so fab - congratulations! :T
  • Today I spent my last £1 before payday (next week) on chocolate. Now I know it wasn't big, or clever, but by God I don't regret that decision! :D

    If you're interested, the pound before it went on loo roll. ;)

    I was even more glad about the chocolate (and the bog roll) when I got home to discover that my landlords have increased the rent. :(

    *wonders whether she's too old to join the army...and if so, whether she could join a convent despite her lack of faith*

    *sigh* to be fair, it's still a really good rent for the house and area, and it's only gone up by a tenner - and they only do this once a year.

    But it's another reminder that I need to pull my finger out and earn more money if I want to stay where I am. Which is a git - because I love my part time job, and I really like working part time.

    So just for the moment, right here, with you guys, I'm going to take a moment to feel a little sorry for myself if that's ok with you? I'll be over it by tomorrow - promise...pinky-swears and everything. :o

    Well hello Nora

    Chin up, you're having some bad luck, though for purely selfish reasons I am glad you're back. And the posts from other old familiars is weirdly warm and comforting

    Banwa!! So fab to see you! :beer:
    You're spot on, and my chin is most definitely back up this morning. It's so lovely to be back amongst my MSE peeps...I'm smiling just typing this.:)

    Today is trying to play hardball - apparently I managed to turn off my alarm in my sleep, so didn't make it to my first "job" (mucking out horses for a friend). Ha! Nice try, but I'm tougher - the alarm has now been moved out of reach. ;)

    Thankfully said friend is my bestie and understood completely. Though she's warned me there'll be substantial mockery tomorrow morning... :rotfl:

    Apologies for my wobble last night. When we're low and feeling a bit battered by life, it's a bit too easy to forget that no matter what hits us, how we deal with it is within our control.

    But I'm better now. So 'tunnocks' to feeling blue (I'm from Essex - you know that's not what I actually said out loud, right...;)), and here's what I'll be doing today to get back on my feet:

    1. Having an NSD day - and subscribing to the Oct thread so I can join the Nov NSD challenge;
    2. Drinking a cuppa and devouring the part-baked roll I've just popped in the oven...:)
    3. Getting the washing done (or I'm wearing a quilt cover to work tomorrow afternoon);
    4. Completed a presentation I'm giving at work tomorrow;
    5. Starting a new blanket on the big needles - actually a paid-for commission!
    6. Continuing with the design and colour on a Hindu-themed vase (another commission!);
    7. Doing my SOA
    And by the end of the week, I will:

    1. Have produced, and been following, a meal plan through until payday (next Wednesday);
    2. Have produced a meal plan and shopping list for November;
    3. Have reworked my budget - taking account of the various things going on in November (tis a busy month);
    4. Have completed all outstanding commissions and issued invoices for payment;
    5. Done my tax return (I know - don't yell);
    6. Have new Christmas stock ready to show and sell through my business;
    7. Tidied and cleaned the house ready to join the Flyladies on Monday... :eek:
    I'll be back this evening to report progress - it's good to be back! :D

    Have a good'un.

    Yay for the chin being back up and plans made.
    It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

    A few bits to catch up on (the presentation's taken me aaaaaaggggeeesss...and there may have been a cat-nap this afternoon), but definitely in the right direction. :)

  • Yay to upwards chin and hugs for the wobble.

    I am staring at a pile of receipts that need to be sorted with my own budget and putting it off, so if I haven't posted an update on my own diary by end of tomorrow night, tell me off please

    Yep Nora we now have a 7 week old eek! She's beautiful but then I'm biased. I've got to do my self assessment return as well but keep mislaying my p60 when hubby 'tidies' up into his carrier bag system.
