Afternoon folks. I'm about to go off and do one of those big 'leap of faith' things which only hindsight will show the success or failure of.
I'm not going to tell you what it is (sorry), but I did want to share a general 'be the master of your own destiny' moment with you all.
So, if you know my diary then you know the rules - deep breath, smile, believe in your smile, and bxxxxcks to the world 'cos you rock!
Boob-squishing hugs to all.

Hello sweetheart, glad you are keeping well x I am indulging myself with a glass of L@mbrini, watching telly and trying to motivate myself to paint miles of peeling Victorian skirtingboard, it's all a bit sh!tty chic here but I seriously need some motivation...
We have started to volunteer for the local animal sanctuary and have started fostering old / poorly dogs and helping them find new homes, very bonding family wise, bit heartbreaking when they don't make it though. Life is good and seems to have more meaning. Just need to learn to control spending (who on here doesn't??!):money:
Just for you Nora, I am trying to overcome my hatred of that certain festive season...here we go

I am in no way biased about this *wipes off dribble at the thought of owning her own home* but you always seem such a lovely 'home' person that I imagine you might sometimes get fed up of having to ok everything with a landlord. Though I do get that there are pluses to renting.
How's the gluten free thing going for you?
And should you be studying? I'm off to your diary to check, Missey....
Aw, thanks
I have been very lucky with my landlords - this have something to do with the fact that I've always left places in a better state than I found them - but it would be really nice to be able to fiddle with the place properly.
And funny that I sound a home person on here - I think a lot of my friends have me down for an academic as I've spent far too long studying :rotfl: but I do think 'home is the most important place in the world'. Now that I'm not studying any more I am allowed to spend time cooking and really must get the sewing machine out too!
The GF thang is going OK - my skin is delighted about the whole thing and so is my digestion. It makes convenience food rather difficult, as everything's bread or pasta based, but that gives me very good excuses to a) not eat the appalling sandwiches supplied by government dept catering and b) say 'no thanks I don't want to spend £3 on a very average coffee and have to watch you eat cake, why don't you come to my house so we can have much better coffee and both eat cake'? :rotfl:
It does also mean I've put the effort into making good stuff and taking in proper lunches. It's helping with the budget as I am working around gluten rather than buying loads of the specially-designed GF stuff, and my colleagues are getting great amusement out of my carefully packed little coolbag. With ice packs. And home-made GF cake for dessert. And little pots of creme fraiche to go with the cake. Funnily enough their tune changed when it turned out I'd brought an extra slice in case somebody wanted one....
