Nora, did you get your packing done? Sorted SS out, and nope not bailing him out this time. Can't afford to! He'll just have to walk.

All power to your elbow on the SS - he'll have to take responsibility for his life at some point.

As for the packing - y'know, I actually did.

I've now scheduled a little bit of clearing, packing or cleaning nearly every day up until the week of the move....which I seem to be keeping to more or less (I've decided that as long as I've done everything I expected to do by the end of the week, it doesn't matter if it's not done on the exact day it was originally scheduled).

So I've already cleared, cleaned and packed a third of the house. Move date is 26th November, with a craft fair at the end of that same week - which has been part of the panic. But no more - tomorrow and Friday are crafting mornings (I work the afternoons and evenings), with the weekend given over to more packing etc. It's taken a huge weight off my shoulders as everything is getting done, and it's not killing me to do it.

Though I only dare whisper it...this organisational lark seems to be pretty effective! :D

Dismantled my bed the other day (it's one of those metal frame efforts) as I wanted to shift the spare bed (a double divan) into my room in order to clean and clear the spare room.... All fine until I realised that I had nowhere to put the mattress that wasn't going to be in the way.... so the bed in my room is now two mattresses thick, and I've come over all 'Princess and the Pea'... threw myself onto it the other night, and it immediately bounced me back off!!:rotfl:

Job still going well - as in, they haven't fired me yet. You know, I'm actually enjoying it. The people are great - both my current team, and in general around the building; I like the 'feel' of the company, and the job is easy enough that I don't have to worry too much, but challenging enough that I still have pay attention in order to do a good job. It's the first job I've had as an adult where I really can leave it at the gate and go home...lovin' it! so my hope is that they'll keep me on after the initial 6 month contract expires (seems they try to do so if you're any good).

Anyway, enough about little 'ol me - I'm off to see what the rest of you've been up to!

All sounds very positive Nora, glad you're enjoying the job, and fingers will be firmly crossed in a few months time that they give you the good news that they want to keep you on.

Your post sounds really upbeat and .... dare I say ..... organised! Doesn't that system of a little at a time work wonders? It's my miracle cure to getting decluttered.

I'm so glad the job is a treat for you too. I will have everything crossed that they have a permanent space for you at the end of the 6 months. x

I'm here!! Moved into the new place yesterday...restrained myself from nipping to the shops to buy new bedding (new house clearly requires new bedding...), and got to Tescos just as a friend called and offered her spare room, a warm bath, glass (or two) of wine and a roast...exactly what I needed after the run up to the move, and the day itself.

Everything actually went really well. Back to the old place today to clean, and back again at the end of the week to finish off. I don't hand back the keys until Friday as I knew this week would be a bit manic.

Got lots of ebay sales sorted prior to the move - and as I unpack, I appear to be putting together another pile!

Also just heard from BT that I'll be getting the £50 Sainsbugs card they had on offer when I first went back to them in June...forgot to apply for it until a few weeks back (doh!).

Added to that, I've got two orders in for knitted wraps and a craft show on Saturday.

What else? Ooo, the job continues - they haven't sacked me yet, which as you'll know if you read this diary often, is my main criteria for job success. Truth be told, I'm really enjoying it. More importantly, I'm loving this business of leaving the job at the door at the end of your shift - who knew?!!

It's all coming together so well....:)

Now, onto more important things - how are you all, and Banwa is that the fab Evil Edna??!!
