hugely cheaper than what I pay now, though my current landlord had offered to lower the rent to a similar amount. Truth be told, being much more central to work and friends, and knowing that I can hermit away in the new place while I save for a deposit on my own one, were the main deciders.

At least you're good in the middle of the day.

I second that... see diary re failing to hermit and enjoying stuff more important.
I also suspect you could market trained wine-waiter ferrets

You're right - I just meant somewhere to finally settle down and really get on with having a life.
I'm looking at this as my last 'rental' move and it's a bigger relief that I'd appreciated. Lots of deeply appreciative sighs, and smiles for no overt reason ('tis fun - freaks the locals out). Where I am now has been up for sale at the same time as I've been renting - which is no problem for me, but it's meant that I've always known that there is another move on the horizon.
Interestingly, where once I would have waited until that happened, and just gone along with the inherent upheaval, now I've taken control and decided the timetable myself. And much of that is because I know what I want to be doing each day, and living here just doesn't support that. So a-packing I shall go!
MT - I know the moving is stressful, but it's not like it's new to me (I have 'my' removal company on speed dial....), plus it's really easy to be chirpy when you know you're doing something to make your own life easier and better.
For me, the move means I can spent the early mornings 'volunteering' as a stable hand for my friend, and getting my dog fix with her hounds before spending a couple of hours crafting and heading off to work in the afternoon. Fab - especially through the winter months, as it means I get to enjoy the daylight (albeit not necessarily the weather!) and just as it's getting really cold, I can head off into work and enjoy heating, lighting etc that someone else is paying for...;):D:money:
Rosa - wine-waiter ferrets...:rotfl:Oooo, and as for the 'early bed time because you can' lark...just wait til you rediscover picking up a book and reading because you have time to kill in any way you like...:)

I love picking up a book and delving into it. I'm a big fan of Jane Green and when I got my current job (sore subject as we had an announcement last thing yesterday), he got me her latest book and another which the person in the bookshop said was written in a similar style. Is it ****, JG does write about some thought provoking situations but this one is all about 2 women going through IVF. I've never been one to give up on a book but I think I might put this one aside at the moment as a good book to me you can immerse yourself in and it feels like a big hug if that makes sense.

It really does make sense. I'm a massive Nora Roberts fan (particularly her more recent stuff). Waiting very impatiently for the last of her current trilogy to come out at the beginning of November, when I'm going to retreat to the corner of my very comfortable sofa with choccies and a blanket and not come out again until I've finished the book....:D0 -
I must start the packing process...
I've take down some of the pictures, and have decluttered the crisps and biscuits...but I'm suffering a bit in the old motivation department...:o
It's actually quite frustrating as I know this fault of old - my name is Nora (sort of), and I....am a procrastinator.
There. I said it. I came out, as it were. My new year resolution for 2012 was to be more organised, and yet here I am, typing away chatting to you all when I could be bubble wrapping stuff in front of the TV.... in fact, I've just loaded Muppet Christmas Carol for that exact reason....and yet...
If you've seen my motivation - either to pack, or get on with all the Nora's Thoughts stuff I need to do, or indeed, anything else, could you send it back this was please!
Have a good'un.

Nora, you know I suffer from the same lack of motivation. I have a mountain of stuff to do and just can't seem to do it. My study/craft room is a...... quick shut the door before anything escapes! But I have started doing 5 minutes here and there with things. I did this last saturday, managed to get 3 loads of washing done, kitchen cleaned, toilet cleaned, other odds and ends and my paperwork done and still found time to watch a film or two. Why not split up your tasks? Say pack one box then make a cuppa, or dust whilst your DVD is on?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
