    Hi Nora,

What a big update. I'm so like you in the planning and not doing, although it's something I'm also working on.

So, where are you planning to move to? Will you stay in the Midlands or move back South? Will you rent a place on your own or in a share? Ooh, I'm so nosy. But, I just like to get a picture in my head of what's going on!!! (It's an OCD thing I think).

Christmas really isn't far off once the children go back to school We'll have the obligatory Christmas aisles in the supermarkets and I see that the tins of sweets are already at £5!! Oh, how I battle with that one on justification. Everything from "1 little sweet will kick the cravings and is better than a whole bar" (obviously I end up eating about 20 little sweets though) to "Those tins come in really handy as free storage" !!!! Hmm!

Anyway, sorry, chocolate conversation created a digression!

You sound like you know the direction you want to go in and that's great. I do love your updates.

    Take care, MT x

Knuckled down for a while, boss - but boredom has set in now, so the rest'll have to wait til tomorrow.

    Argh...take off the thumbscrews!! :D

Staying in the midlands - having lived all over, this is the first time I've ever considered settling down and buying a place. So I'm in no hurry to shift back down south any time soon.

I'll carry on renting on my own while I sort myself into a position where I can buy - I don't do well sharing my space or my chocolate!

I spotted those in Tesco just yesterday, and had exactly the same 'what a bargain, what a treat' reaction. Thankfully I had a friend with me who escorted me from the area! ;)

Ahhh, Christmas. I've already dug out The Muppet Christmas Carol for watching tomorrow while I knit (yes Dragon, after I've finished sorting stuff....).

    In fact....

hi Nora, if you could send some paperwork filing vibes down this way as i desperately need to do something, should have done something whilst i was off sick but too late now as i'm back to work tomorrow :(.

I think i would still have one of last years tins in the house if i hadn't given it away to my sister for her kids, but that was just self preservation what with my gallstone and strict diet this year. Still havent' had chocolate since April/ early may time which is a miracle!
  • :eek:Oh, LT - no choccie since April??

I'm the woman who, last night, broke into her cooking supply of chocolate chips as she'd run out of normal-eat choccie! :D

Sooooo...BD has grown into a big clean and clear *shakes head* I don't know how these things happen, I really don't. But the cottage doesn't like it - it threw three huge barn spiders at me on Wednesday evening. One of which ran at me while I was on the loo - which is seriously not playing fair!!

On to other matters. In MSE news, I've just prioritised saving money over 'nipping' down to London for a show with friends between now and Christmas.

Instead, I'm planning on spending that money (less actually) on a new windscreen for my car - I tell you, I lead the life...

It suddenly occurred to me that I could spend easily £100 or more joining friends to see a show..nice evening/weekend to be sure, but short lived. Ooooooorrrrrr, I could spend the money on replacing my windscreen which has a crack that, despite patching, is likely to give up completely at the first sign of a nasty winter... I'm feeling all grown-up and sensible...can you tell?:rotfl:

Hope all is well with everyone - have a good'un!

    Hi Nora

have to say you've probably made the right decision windscreen wise even if it's not the most exciting decision.

I was talking about going to a show with one of my friends but post bathroom being replaced and agreeing to windows being done etc we're more like church mice in our skintness so i will have to postpone the show trip.

I have to admit i'm still amazed i've done so well with Chocolate, especially given that we have some in the house at the moment, but i think i'm now at the stage where i'm worried to try some incase i get the taste for it and go mad again and undo all the hard work i've gone though this year.

Urgh windscreens are a pain arent they! I once had to replace mine and promptly managed to chip the new one the same day it was installed, not sure how the garage staff kept a straight face when I pulled back in to the place three hours after driving out the first time. But they are a necessary evil since even cars with soft tops have them :(

LT I'm a little bit in awe of the willpower, that said I have 9 bars of galaxy in my cupboard which have been there over a year and were out of date when I brought them home (should probably bin them next time I go in the cupboard thinking about it). My will power failure is always icecream and ice lollies, cant have them in the house or I eat the lot in one sitting.

  • Spent all morning yesterday weeding and clearing (read 'hacking and destroying') the garden...

I swear, I'm not kitted out for hard labour - though now it does look lovely again. It's a cottage garden...but on a larger scale than we non-gardeners consider strictly necessary :D Still, it's nice to look over it this morning and have the satisfaction that today's aching limbs is worth it.

The afternoon was spent plonked on a chair in the garden catching up with various knits for Nora's Thoughts.

I've been playing with patterns for smaller wraps for little girls. Proto-type is done, but I'm worried about the measurements....and the idea of small childerbeasts potentially strangling themselves... I think the final version will simply be a round wrap, rather than having the overlap... anyway, I'm dithering. Here's a piccie - let me know what you think.

I love the buttons! Other than that I have little sensible to add, other than I do tend to near strangle myself with mine when I do something daft like fall asleep on the sofa wearing it - but I've nearly strangled myself with most things I wear around my neck and shoulders at some point.

*snort* thanks for that...*debates adding anti-strangulation health warning to wraps....*
