Your revamp looks much more professional than your original site......:)0

Hi,
I think you have great products at good prices, however, I dislike your site greatly. That is just my opinion, and I am sure others will disagree.
I think that more functionality is what your site needs. I would recommend switching to dedicated shopping software ASAP - you will get much, much more out of it. I use Prestashop (free) and I recommend it highly - the back office does everything you will need. I know you are with 123reg, I would recommend keeping your domain name and switching to a company that offers free softalicious (this is a system that installs opensource programs free). You will be able to get more than what you need for less than £30 a year.
Your design looks unprofessional - you should address this. (prestashop will help). Loose the 'in your face' pink, pink will loose you a substantial number of customers before they even look at your products. If you like pink, put it in a logo, or keep it subtle.
You have an ebay store, right? Ebay costs you 10% of your sale price every time you make a sale. Why not send a gift card for a 10% saving every time you sell through ebay?
Have you thought about using the power of MSE? I mean, if you purchase a lot of items that are cheap, and offer them free of charge on the freebee board? This way, you will get contact details and be able to start a substantial mailing list.
I have recently installed modules onto my site that offer loyalty points (1 point for every £1 spent - redeemable for vouchers at 1point per penny). I also installed a referrer module, which means that for every 5 people referred (who make a spend), the referrer gets a £5 voucher. Lots you can do to encourage repeat visits.
Sorry about the gobeldy-gook. Tons I wanted to post, but just wouldn't come out in order!0 -
The first thing you need to do with any website is to get someone who has no idea about your business to test drive it. You can't do it nor can your friends nor people who know what you do because their brains will gloss over mistakes and illogical design just as your brain will read Ofxrod as Oxford.
The second one is that if I have to look for something, if it is not intuitive, then I will go elsewhere. Then if I do not trust your payment options and your returns policy I will not shop.
A friend and I spent untold hours working on getting the data, photos and descriptions right for a website selling goods and services a few years ago. We were trailblazers in the content and it should have made some serious money. However, we were crap at website design and unwilling to commit enough to get it done professionally, hoping we could do that as we moved forward. We got it 10,000% better than when we started and quite slick if I say so but it was too late, the ship had sailed and others with better implementation strategies and resources had stolen our thunder. Thousands of hours in effect wasted, though many lessons learned.
KISS principles abound. Make sure your filters work in all sequences so that if I select "show all" and then filter "low to high" it does not reset the "show all" filter to the default top 20 or whatever. You'd be surprised how many professional ones make these simple errors because they do not test it enough.
Lastly, stick to your margins outside periodic sales unless seriously going to the mass market. If it is worth such a price, don't be ashamed to state that. Tiffany for instance never discount yet they throw in services such as free lifetime cleaning.
Good luck.0
