Oh Jojo, I have images from the tv shows where they go in and clear out peoples houses.... ick! makes me feel better about mine!! lol xBe who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0

There's a reason why you think that.
I feel sorry for anyone who lives next door to her.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I have a cat now and cant believe how much mess she creates! She regulary kicks all the cat litter out of her box (and is scared stupid, by the ones with a cover on!) fur literally everywhere, and the occasional night time treat of a nice fur ball coughed up on the rug - WHY is it always the rug, when the rest of the floors are laminate flooring???? Shes also very anxious and goes around the corner of walls/doors/us scenting eveything with her face and chin on a daily basis, every corner in the flat now has a black greasey mark about a foot off the floor from this...ive given up cleaning them off now, or she goes into scenting overdrive for the next week anyway.
Last dog i had was even worse, he was a long white haired bearded collie, we brought a new sofa and thought we were clever buying a light colour one, so his fur didnt show up, which worked until he ran in from the garden and rolled along it covered in mud!0 -
We got 2 cats now (had previously 3) - we clean once a week - that's general cleaning - house done top to bottom. Not counting the expelled hairballs and the like which of course are done asap. Equally, the kitchen floor gets at least a sweep up couple of times a week in addition. It's not 100% but with 8 paws running back and forth - i've given up. I'm also working full time and long enough hours so don't have the time nor the will to hoover daily. Our house is pretty clutter free though which helps to keep it clean and tidy. Still, cat hair can be found in most unexpected places, underwear drawers, upper shelves of wardrobe....0

We had lovebirds when I was a teenager and they were terrible for this. they're quite clever and get bored easily. We had trouble when ours figured out that they could lift the cage door if they worked together :rotfl:
We ended up having to buy a massive cage and loads of toys for them.
On the dog moulting front - get a rescue dog. If the dog is older you can already get an idea of whether it's a moulter when you first see it. A lot of dogs that don't moult need very regular grooming and hair cuts, so be prepared for that cost.
My OH's mother has a lurcher - grey hound crossed with some kind of terrier - he has quite short hair and barely moults at all but he does need daily grooming to prevent the fur from matting.0 -
Well as my kitchen floor was covered in cat/dog hair this morning and Fred nicked my ham dragging it onto the floor - although he only managed goble down half of it by the time I got to him... had to leave him the rest as it was welllll very hairy0

Its a constant battle to keep my house tidy. My own fault, my kids have too many toys, and like creating stuff out of loo rolls, cardboard, empty bottle, and leaving everything in a horrible mess.
Have toughened up, so am gradually catching up. I always make sure the living room, and bedrooms are tidy. I am going to be ruthless and have a mega clearout. Have too much stuff, and too many unplayed with toys.
The thomas set I bought my son is huge, and has claimed a good bit of my living room, along with my daughters giant Bratz bus, which she has crammed full of toys and strewn over what was a tidy living room. Will make her clear up before bed, as its time she started taking responsibility for her toys.
I am determined to get completely organised over the half term. Feel full of energy these days. :cool:0 -
mine isnt so much cat hair as cat litter. i use cats best which is a brilliant litter but it tracks really badly.
though i must admit if i am not expecting people round i do leave it for a good few days before hoovering.0 -
