Got to Bitterne just before it opened at 8am and people were queueing. Had to drag my 2 kids along and thought it was going to be a nightmare. We got in and most people went to get the lego.
I send the kids in to get whatever they liked and then sorted through the toys. Spotted some lego hiding on another shelf and got loads of lego city.
Came out with loads of toys for christmas and birthdays. The 4 extra hands were great. Told the kids they can choose one toy each today and the rest we pack up and post to Father Christmas lol. Seemed to work and no tears.

I saw somebody doing similar this morning. I thought it was quite sad tbh. 3 kids, aged perhaps 3-8, choosing their own Xmas presents there and then and seeing how much they cost. And actually asking how much they cost.

Takes the fun and sparkle out of it, imo. :(

Went to Middlesbrough - not too bad, and all good humoured - Toy selection is pretty small but they had the bigger things dotted around so you would need to walk all round the store - inc the back wall by the bread
Got some Lego, Zhu Zhu, cars, Aqua beads, Plenty of Barbies, but not that huge a selection really - still spent £100 mind

Eastbourne had lots this morning but was all going pretty quickly! There was one lady with a very overflowing trolley so much so they were falling out if she pushed her trolley too fast! Another lady had literally emptied shelfs off and then ther and hubby were in the clothes section deciding what to keep and later noticed the trolley of toys they decided they didn't want they had just abandoned and left for some poor member of staff that was fighting her way through trying to put it all back on the shelves.
I did manage to get the mickey, also got lots of bits for my little one, lots of Lego had been cleared but lots of dollies,Barrie bits left, also lots of easels there and play tables.
There was lots left at the main entrance the bigger toys which didn't seem to be touched. Lots of bargains to be had but don't think they'll be around long judging by the greed I witnessed by some people

anyone seen any innotabs or leapads?

Did anyone buy an innotab or leapad?
There were none at my local story so went out without nothing.
  • Just got back from Chelmsford. Was very civilised. No pushing or shoving. But wasn't massively impressed with the toys. Did better last year. They had transformers, quite a few baby toys, barbies, Zhu Zhu pets, pretend kitchen... peppa pig palace and fireman sam sets but at £19.99 each I thought they were still expensive. Also no Ben 10 things!

Back from Lordshill - went just after 8am & was like we'd missed the party!! Empty shelves & only the bigger toys left. Good luck to anyone who got what they wanted.
  • Just out of the Sainsburys in Andersonstown Belfast and it was ok, car park was still empty at 8.50am , but was getting busier when i was leaving at 10am....Huge selection of toys and games, and staff constantly refilling shelves. I got loads of sainsburys own toys suitable for age 6-36months, Cars 2 soft toys, thomas the tank engine, one of those big black boards with white magnetic board on back, fisher price things, bath toys etc. they also had loads of big garages, black and decker work stations etc. Got a full trolly full of things that will sort my son for xmas and his birthday for 150 quid!!! Was so happy, thanks for the tip off :)

Another bamber bridger here. Not too bad although there was quite a few people in from opening.

Not too much pushing, but a few jams up the aisles from being busy.
    Quite a big toy section.

Got the mickey I went for (DD2 is mad on mickey) and most of the other stuff on my list. DD2 had mentioned the tangled doll, but only recently, and it appeared not to have been in-a sel was there but OOS and its OOS online (and was yesterday). DD1 is after the hello kitty makeup case/mirror, but it doesn't seem to be classed as a toy (I suppose its inbetween really even tho its hello kitty). Will shop around for that-but got the hello kitty card machine thingy she asked for.

Spent about £120, but that wasn't all toys-bags of cadburys chocs-mini bags of choccy buttons, mini crunchies, mini twirls @ just £1 a bag. Plus we needed some pop and the pepsi was on 2 for £2.

Good trip I reckon and will probably pop back later in the sale to see what else comes in/gets reduced further especially stocking fillers. But got a good chunk of my crimbo shopping out of the way.

Most people seemed to be shopping for themselves, but saw a couple probably in their late 40's both very overweight and pretty scruffy-him with his walking stick, they had a staff member helping them and had 2 trollys just full of lego-many items the same :(. Guess they are ebayers.

Well I didn't have a choice but to take the kids along, otherwise I would've missed it. I explained we'll post them to father christmas and he will give them to children that have been good at christmas. My kids accepted it and hopefully will soon forget what I bought. They are still young and still believe in Father Christmas.
