Your wise to ask but as others said it screams a scam0

Do not even think about sending it anywhere it cannot be tracked, and make sure it is adequately insured. I suspect you will be re-listing.What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Ok just read all the other posts!! Thanks for all the advice i'll get onto ebay. Gutted needed the money too, I thought it was strange as the auction ended today 6 hours before it was bought at £420 the starting bid price was £300!0

Yeah im just a bit uneasy about it all, just emailed him asking for more details regarding payment and that i will post the ring as soon as payment is cleared in my account! I hope its not a scam I had big plans to sell everything that wasnt nailed down for christmas funds!
NO- it IS a scam- forget about the sale and move on, the ring isn't going anywhere just yet.
have you phoned ebay to try and get this sale removed and get your FVFs back?
Once you do that you can relist, but next time make it immiate payment required.
Some tips for new sellers here:

they'll send you fake reciepts, reciept/transaction numbers etc
like the others said, report it and get your fees back rather than getting sucked in and losing the ring and the cash:TJanuary Wins: Something from CCL :T

If this was a BIN then it cannot have gone for more than the list price. It sounds like you are really new to ebay and can I please be blunt and suggest you don't relist the ring yet, but instead try a few smaller chaeper items to get a feel for how it all works. I fear that you are going to crash badly unless you really start to understand how to protect yourself.
Look at my link I posted above, keep safe, it is the only way to stop these scum bags.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just wanted to say that you have to be so careful selling gold on ebay, I sold a gold ring early last year, and was asked almost immediately for a buy it now price, the buyer paid immediately but then got back to me in an abusive manner saying the ring was not gold but a cheap metal and they wanted to return it. The ring had been valued and I knew it was gold but agreed to have it back and then refund them.
The ring they eventually returned was not the one I sent, but by then paypal had refunded them because they had a tracking number and I chalked it up to experience. It is another scam.0 -
On hold with ebay as i type thanks everyone! Just to clarify i listed the ring with a starting bid price of £300 or a buy it now option of £420.0

Tazzie2shoes thats awful, you must have been gutted! This has really put me off selling on ebay. Soolin thanks i will start of with small things untill i get more confident. Ebay confirmed the buyer was suspicious and have reported him. They told me to email him to say i have contacted ebay and paypal and he has 4 days to pay for the ring as per ebay policy.
Inevitably he wont pay! So i'll take further action then. Thank you so much everyone for you help, i'll have a nosey through the helpfull threads on here and bump up my ebay knowledge a bit until then the ring isnt going anywhere!0
