Town and City Parking ticket

It's been another five days..... and nothing. Bit concerned about the new court letters in the sticky though! I'm so sick of this - despite all the best advice and logic, it's not nice wondering about the post every day.
What "court letters" in the sticky? If there are new one they are nothing to do with TCP, as they don't do court. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
The only thing Town and City know about Courts is that they are something you play tennis on. They are one of those that are far too smart to actually take any of their tickets to court because they know full well they will lose, since there is NO legal basis for making you pay.
That won't stop them threatening it- but that's all it will be- a completely empty threat.
I repeat- if they could take you to court, they would be doing it, not talking about it. Courage. You will feel ten feet tall when you realise you have beaten the bullies.0 -
i look forward to the lovely letters i receive, it makes me feel that someone's thinking about me :rotfl::rotfl:0

Treeboa, how sad is that? The only people thinking of you are parking scammers? My heart bleeds...........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

I received a letter from TCP today about overparking by 45 mins in asda....have read all the comments on this and i am by no means going to pay (i spent enough in the bloody store that day!!), however my concern is parking there again to do my shopping.....bit silly i know but they cant clamp my car can they through non payment if they see i have parked again....paranoid to the extreme but i dont know how this car registration recognition works and being a single parent of 3 i really cant be doing with shelling out loads of money on clamping!!!
Much obliged for any comments0 -
No, that's illegal. It also wouldn't look too good to other shoppers to see a clamped car in the car park!Je Suis Cecil.0

Welcome to MSE!
Yes you are being paranoid - calm down and ignore it.
This is not a real fine - it's just like ignoring any other scam, such as phishing emails. TCP are not clampers, you have to have a special SIA licince for that (which TCP don't) and signs up warning specifically of clamping. You NEVER get those in a major Supermarket car park, ever.
I am just an ordinary wife and Mum and I got a fake PCN in a Supermarket car park 4 years ago. I laughed when I saw it as I already knew it was a scam - and yes, I still carried on parking there every single week without any qualms whatsoever.
Nothing happens except the letters as shown in the second to top thread, you need to read the thread called 'PPC letters and threats' (dont worry about the fake Court papers, it's all part of the scam for a few PPCs, not TCP, their letters are fairly standard as you will see).
See my signature, one click and you are back at the forum view, click on the forum thread called 'PPC letters & threats'. Watch the Watchdog clip, listen to the solicitor on that excerpt - also Watchdog are covering this sort of scam again this Thursday!
Each time you get a scary debt collector letter, find 'your' letter in the many pics of letter-chains. See what comes next and ignore the threats, just laugh and play snap with each matching template. Do not even think about writing to the PPC or paying.
You are entitled to be VERY angry with Asda for exposing you to this harassment - I would wait till you receive some of those 'threatograms' then send copies of them with a strong letter of complaint (not appeal) to Adsa. Tell them they have just lost a customer due to this rip-off! Say that you haven't fallen for it as you have looked up the unenforceability of these fake PCNs online - but it is WRONG in principle for any retailer to treat its paying customers this way because less clued-up people would be intimidated and possibly pay what is simply a scam, exposed lots of times by Watchdog and in the national papers and on websites. Tell them that this protection racket in their car park is tarnishing their name, etc. etc. Send it snail mail to the Head Office UK address (look it up on their website).
This was never a legit parking ticket, not a fine nor a penalty.
And you can rest assured there will be NO clamping, NO Court, NO CCJ, NO bailiff, NO effect on credit rating.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
