Afternoon all. Away on hollibobs in sunny :rotfl::rotfl:North Berwick.

Gave myself food poisoning at the local Chippy on Saturday night - by eating a Baked Potato and beans. So since Friday night I have had 2 slices of toast. Great for the diet.

Didn't sleep Saturday night being ill, and felt awful yesterday. Woke up at 1030 this morning feeling human again.

Furry beast is lying at my feet - we exhausted him with 3 walks on the beach yesterday.

uolypool it is great that he has such support from you and that he is making the decision. Fingers crossed for his mum.

ARGH. I hate banks, they've blocked my card, but customer services say it's not blocked - go into the branch they say it is!! Can't make any payments which is frustrating. I have bills to pay! Will have to sort it out later, as am limited with time this lunch.

Am home for lunch, soup is perfect for the weather today!! Pup helped himself to 7 dentastixs whilst i was out this morning! Cheeky boy.

Sorry about the food poisoning, CS. Hope you emjoy the rest of your hols.
Bramble, I do sympathise about your blocked card. Three times this year I've had a letter saying my card has been blocked due to "unauthorised activity" - just as well really as someone else was trying to use it apparently. Funny thing was, each time I'd used it over the net the previous week to purchase dog food. Not going to use that particular site again! It was such a nuisance tho' as each time I had to wait for a new card to come and could only draw money by going into my local branch and producing two forms of ID.
Well, we had the gazpacho for lunch - very nice but would have preferred something warm! Sheets are blowing nicely, but sky looking very ominous!

:rotfl::rotfl:Mine would do the same. He can hear the pack being rustled at the other end of the house. Infact we began to worry last night when he hadn't appeared (the routine is, he gets fed, we get fed, he gets a dentastix) I think we walked him too much yesterday as he didn't appear until we opened the packet:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

uolypool glad to hear the charges haven't been droppped. Its terrible having to live in a situation like that. Been there with members of my family , your doing the right thing being there to gove them support whenver they need it.

jaxx - not sure what to say,m hopefully he'll just grow out of it.

Hester your a star ! I loved it when my mother turned up with food, when times where tough, even if it was just for a chinwag :D.

    cs enjoy your hols!!!!

Jackie o - hope the results go well!

Well i actually got through part of my list of jobs.
The winds howling outside and i can smell rain, so will have to get the clothes in off the line. The cats thought i was mad as i was hanging out the clothes. Normally both of them follow me about in the yard, today they walked out and ran straight back in! The wussess!!!

Anyways managed to strip the chicken carcass, now have four food bags of cooked chicken in the freezer along with four tubs of mince mix. So theres another another 16 meals out of 5oog of mince. Still got 500g so think of what to do with that later. Oh and about 1l of concentrated chicken stock, smells good.

Oh and made loads of bread to last us till tomorrow i think, so been a busy bee. In between taking calls off OH and phoning about for plumbing parts here there and everywhere.

But i was very naughty and ate the side dinner of rostis from the m &s deal, so lush with salad and mayo. Can't believe i ate all four of them .

ah well, at least they kept me warm, its blooming freezing out side.

Got my eye on a microwave on ebay, never had one but i'm thinking of getting for quickly warming up leftovers. OH hates them, but he may have to bite the bullet and let me get one.

Well better go and get snips (ds2) from frootball club, coddy (ds1) won't get back till about half four no doubt, the bus was 45 minutes late last time. He was furious.

    Hi all,

Just a quickie, soaked a pack of broth mix last night, chucked it in the SC this morning with some sad veg and a couple of slices of proper ham, can home to find that its expanded and looks like it should feature in some 1950's horror movie :eek:- pea and ham soup monster anyone? .......

Leftover stew combined with some mince for quick shep pie tonight, then looks like soup is on the menu for the rest of the month ;)

Will have a read of the goss when i,ve smashed my spuds.

Have a fab evening all xx

Back again after a hectic weekend. Last night helped with the 'drop-in' centre we run at church and fed a hot meal to 18 homeless and desperate people and 2 dogs. There is nothing like hearing the heartbreaking stories our friends have to tell for making you feel like gratefully counting your blessings.
Today is supposedly our day off so we did a bit of B&Qing and then went out for a sandwich lunch. Felt a bit guilty at spending money unnecessarily but when it came, the sandwich was accompanied by so much salad and a huge pile of vegetable crisps that we were able to wrap half our sandwich in a napkin and bring it home. It will do for tea with a bowl of HM soup. Don't feel so guilty now.

JackieO: Hope you have good news.
kezlou: Calves foot jelly? I haven't a clue what it is but I have read that it was a favourite thing for the Lady of the Manor to take to her ailing estate workers. So off you go and minister to your servants, I'm sure they will tug their forelocks with gratitude.
Hawthorn: Having the sensitivity of a rhinocerous I can't imagine how you cope with your problems. You must be so brave. Love the apron.:rotfl: I bet the teacher had a giggle.
jaxx: confrontational teenage boys are the pits. Mine are adopted and loved so much it hurts, but I must confess that at 16 I used to fantasise that DS1's birth mother would arrive at my door one day and demand him back! We would go for days with his only conversation consisting of neanderthal grunts interspersed with screams of how unfair life in general, and me in particular, was treating him. Truanting from school, unsuitable friends, coming home drunk........honestly, it does all pass in time. You WILL survive. Mine is lovely now, (mind you, he IS 42.)
Julie: I once taught a little girl to crochet. She kept going round and round until she had a blanket nearly big enough to cover the classroom floor. I tried to teach her how to finish off but she didn't want to know. I imagine her still crocheting many years later having carpeted Wembley Stadium.:D
