Morning all,
Just lost a huge post, anyway the basis of it was today consists of washing cleaning shopping, gardening etc.
Tea will probably be toad out of the hole and veggies.
DD worked a long day yesterday, I am so proud of her, she is putting most of her wages towards her college trip, and OH and I will pay the rest, glad she has my work / money ethics and not her b****y fathers
Will go and see my dad later on, he sleeps an awful lot, which makes seeing him diffficult, so we tend to pop in for 1/2 hr or so.
DD has asked for a football type bobble hat for Xmas in red/white, so I will have a good search around for that today, got a few stocking fillers at the boot sale yesterday :T
Hester, what a lovely mum you are xx
Bargain 3.15 :eek::eek::eek:
Hawthorn, good luck with your trip into town xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Me again
thanks to BB & Hawthorn for comments re DS, unfortunately we have been down this road before & he did go to live with his dad, didn't last long so can only assume he has either a short memory or is just being hurtful. He is now 16 & I was so pleased when he decided to do sixth form albeit rather late in the day, but he's obviously not happy & in fact told me this morning he's only doing it because he couldn't find a job between may & september & he knows that we lose ctc & cb if he leaves, not because he wants to. I think we will have to look at other options but it's difficult to even have a conversation with him at the moment
Tiredmum, we put a door on our lounge last year, what a difference it made, I def reccomend it, & double bonus we got ours off of freecycle so didn't cost a penny :jmight be worth having a look on your local site.

Much to my embarrassment, I thought I'd pop in and give you a giggle.
I've just emptied my daughters bag.....only to realise she took the wrong apron for cooking on friday. Not the nice red one, or the one with the pictures of dogs on. Oh no. It's a 50's style one that has a smiling woman on with the caption 'SIZE MATTERS'.
However will I face her cookery teacher nowProud to be dealing with my debts :T

Morning all,
Seems very chilly today.DS1 rang DS2 earlier to say he's stuck at GFs as his car wont start so he's off to the rescue and buy some jump leads.I've thought its been sounding a bit rough for a while.
House fairly tidy so just done a quick swish/swipe and I'll carry on sorting out the office and hopefully make a start on making some Christmas cards.
Tea will be a mish mash of various things that need using up.DH & I had words yesterday as he thinks I spend too long cooking and get too tired, and make too much mess.I pointed out that cooking from scratch is messy with lots of chopping veg etc, baking with flour all over, but as he spends all Sunday normally sat in front of the box and noone helps me ,the kitchen will get messy.Hence him cleaning up :DThey are all happy to eat the results though  I am tempted to buy ready meals for a week and see how much that costs him:eek:.
Right better get on-Molly hope your back is sorted soon.DS2 is off to the osteopath today too.
Julie-thats my kind of crochet too-I'm a dab hand at blankets and not much else:rotfl:
Have good days all.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all, very chilly here today bbbrrrrr.
Jaxx teenagers who'd have them. ;)Stay strong hun they are given to us to keep us on our toes;).
BB I feel that the boy won't even think about dropping charges against his dad. More and more is coming out everytime he speaks about him, sounds like it is a situation that has been going on for many years and this time something has snapped in his head and he has had enough. He is very worried about his mum being in the house with his dad still as he is scared she will take the brunt of the fallout. I told her yesterday before she left that my back door is always open if she needs to get away from him quickly and that she is more than welcome to use it . I spoke to ds3 on his own yesterday about his anger towards the "dad" and basically told him that going round there will not help the case one little bit and to stay away and support his friend, let the police and courts deal with the scumbag.
I phoned the DWP this morning to explain the situation to them before someone else phones them to say I have someone living here with me , they were fine with it and has noted it on the system.I also asked them that if the mum was to have mail sent to mine in order to plan an excape from him would this put my benefits in question , they have taken the ladies name and said if is does happen just to let them know so they can update the situation on my files.
So back to OS ..... lots to do today, as nothing was done yesterday,:o Have washed the kitchen floor and wiped the cupboards and sides down. Popped a ham into the slow cooker will have some with Mac cheese and salad tonight , slice and freeze some and slice the rest for sandwiches during the week.
Woofer is looking all nice and glossy coated again after he was brushed.Got so much loose hair/fur??? from his coat.Bathroom cleaned , beds made, am just sitting with a coffee and a quick MSE surf and then am going to hoover upstairs. Must take it easy though as my back is twinging and a tad achy . Its the weather change I would think , but last thing I want is for it to lay me up for a while.
Hope everyone is doing well, where would I be without you lovely ladies to share my sorrows and problems with.
Have a lovely day peeps:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Hi Everyone
Hester - your post reminded me of the early days of my married life - we were struggling financially and I would often come home to find my mum had been in and left us some fruit she "didnt need" or some items that she had got on a BOGOF (or so she said!). What an angel she was! Im sure your family appreciate it more than you realise.
I had a good weekend and was fairly productive (even managed to get a couple of Christmas presents).
I brought my lunch from home today so it should be a NSD. I have got soup tonight and I am determined to stick to my diet today after a few little drinkies over the weekend!
I am going to spend my lunch break paying a couple of bills online and doing some Christmas planning - I love Christmas but I like to budget and be organised rather than just letting it happen!
Have a great day everyone!
