Afternoon all. Will be fluttering this week as we are on hollibobs at MIL flat in sunny:rotfl::rotfl:North Berwick.

First thing I did on arrival was come down with a stomach bug after eating a Baked Potato and beans from the local chippy. So since Friday evening I have had 2 slices of toast. Great way to diet. But spent Sat night up and down so was really yucky yesterday. Slept in until 1030 today and I feel human again.

Sorry to hear about all the mis-behaving furries. Ours is currently conked out on the floor. We tired him out with 3 walks on the beach yesterday.

  • can i give my 5 year old chocolate fondant melt in the middle pudding thing? i made some for the tea with the boyfriendey-type person last night (long story we are not a couple but we are not not a couple iygwim. i dont understand it myself so i dont expect anyone else to either) and ive 4 left in the fridge. im back on my diet with a vengance so i cant possible eat all 4 myself even though they are small. they will have gone off in 4 days anyway.
coz of the raw egg element im not sure how old they can be before its not a risk as such?

Jo I think we might try to paint them first. Neither me or DH is very good at these things though so if it looks hideous we might have to buy new doors! I hear Ikea is very reasonably priced.

DD has an ear infection and has conked out on the sofa so trying to do all the quiet stuff that needs doing!

Anyway - I have emptied the larder cupboard, filled a black bag with stuff which was no longer useable or wanted. Off to find some more boxes to fill...

Muso - could you get rid of a couple of cupboards and have pan racks and plate racks instead? Can the doors be painted, covered, removed and replaced by fabric on wire?

Managed to get a fair bit done. Feeling worse now so have stopped for some lunch. If I can just get the kitchen sink scrubbed and the floor washed out there I think I'll call it a day and do some paperwork.

Hi all; I'm in as far as I can manage again – many thanks, FCC, for the lists, and everyone else for the friendship and encouragement – hoping to do a bit better than I managed last week, subject to working round my charming but very elderly house-guest.;)

Friday will be interesting; Mr LW will be wfh; we have the plumber coming to attend to the shower (doesn't stop running til a couple of minutes after you turn it off) and the kitchen tap (has developed a persistent and maddening drip), and I have to take myself to the Fang Farrier for further impressions for my new plate (as Mr LW's wfh, I can have the car) – 'tis only a 16-mile round trip, and I know the route, so should be OK. I'm actually more worried about sitting in the waiting room than the actual work; I know what's got to be done, and I've been through it before; but the receptionist likes to chat, and I'm absolutely carp at small talk, and would prefer to just sit quietly and wait. Not sure how to put this across without seeming rude.:(

Methekidsandthecat ooh, it sounds like you've had a world of troubles in your life one way and another; baby steps, remember, it'll all come together eventually. Bungalows are great – no more going base over apex down the stairs! (That's my take on it, anyway!);)

Lavendyr welcome; 15 mins before work sounds good to me – I do QHCs (Quarter Hour Challenges) a lot of the time, as that's all I can manage at a stretch, and you'll be surprised what you can do in a short space of time – it's what Mr LW calls “eating an elephant” - you do it in small bites! :o

Welcome to all other new Flyers, also!

I'm afraid I won't be dragging out any appliances to clean behind;:( there's only two that move, the fridge-freezer and the WM; both have been done behind recently (when we had them out for maintenance reasons) and I don't intend asking Mr LW to risk his back unnecessarily (needless to say, I couldn't move them myself in a million years) and I think, with Meg wandering around, I'll skip standing on the step-stool to do the kitchen windows, lest she be behind it for me to fall over when I come down – she does tend to wander apparently aimlessly, sometimes.:o

I'm quite exhausted today – quite apart from the usual lupus-induced tiredness, we saw Damh The Bard perform at the local moot last night, which entailed much joining in with the singing!:D (See my siggy below for some of his lyrics). Anyways, I think this afternoon might be a series of 5 and 10 Minute Challenges!:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I would love to have racks and things, I just worry that taking a cupboard off is going to uncover a bigger problem!

What is the fabric on wire idea? i've not heard of this
