  • forgot to put my ideas for cats names. these are the names of some of my fish as named by my friend and DS1

Slyvester (coz he kept sneaking away from the rest of the fish and looked sly apparently)
    Sausage roll
    Choc Ice

    the budgie is lightening.
  • The fish sound lovely. We are possibly a little crowded in our tank with 4 cloud minnows, 2 leopard & 2 zebra danios (The Munchers), 2 oranda (Morris & Tiger) and Gary the Snail, but the biological filter is working well now we've had the setup since June.We did lose 2 fish in the early stages though. Do you have a nursery tank or partition to give the fry a chance of survival?

Trying to transfer the contents of the camera to the laptop by bluetooth via my phone as I can't find the cable. Sooooooooooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!

ive only lost 1 so far coz the stupid thing swam into the filter and got stuck!

no ive not got a partition but i did have one last time i set up my tank but the fry here so small they just went through the sides so i didnt bother in the end. ive just bought a plastic plant which has loads of places for them to hide in and ive a jug in the bottom as well.

i dont bother with real plants coz they just end up eating them and ive to buy more lol.

  • i quite fancy a cat but with the fish and the budgie i dont think the cat would be very happy. nor the budgie. i, however, would be amused all day long watching the cat trying to get a meal!

    Evening all
Just popped on to see how you're all doing. You'd almost be proud of me - we've people coming to stay on Monday and it's not the usual mad dash to sort the house out. Bit of cleaning tomorrow and we should be fine. It's only because i've given so much stuff away i'm sat in an empty house so it can't get messy - not quite but getting there

Loving the talk of kitties....very tempted as we're down to zero for the first time in my life! xx

Insurance done... Saved £156 and should get £45 cash back too :D

Looked at instructions for new diet, which will start when the supplements ordered today arrive... 1 portion of pulses a day, 3 veg, 2 fruit, no more than 1 root veg or squash, 3 protein, 1 nuts & seeds, 4 tsp oil, 1 grain, 2 litres of water/herbal tea, minimal dairy, all meat and dairy to be organic. Not sure how that will work when I'm travelling, but I'll have to do what I can. I guess I'll have to get meal planning tomorrow... Mind you, I don't think it will help with the coeliac test as the gluten levels will be too low. And I'll have to eat the bananas soon as they're banned too :( hopefully I'll only have to do it for a month.

Seriously contemplating a bath and an early night... It would save putting another log on the fire! So I'll go and put the bathroom heating on in preparation and fill the kettle for hot water bottles. I have some clean laundry to put away first.

Evening everyone! It's half term so, of course, I have a delightful cold and cough :( Ah, well - it could be worse.

We had a pets day in my class on Weds and the children absolutely loved it :D At one point, my classroom contained 2 guinea pigs, a hamster, 2 rats, a rabbit, a tortoise and 2 stick insects! Oh, and 10 children!! We have some lovely photos and one boy asked if the animals could come again for Christmas!

valli (and others in the area) - did you see my comment about being in Derby for a weekend soon? I may need some local knowledge please!!

Hope everyone is ok - love and hugs to all, especially Toots, L-L and LW xx

  • Jojo - how about:

    Hector
    Forbes
    Spencer
    Numbers

My cats are all boys (have 4) they have human male names and apparently they sound like an indoor bowls collective!

    Today I have

    Baked a loaf in bm
    Baked 2 xmas cakes
Hoovered lounge, kitchen, landing & bedroom
    Dusted bedroom
    Cleaned kitchen after baking
    Changed bedding
WM put on and washing put on airer

Changed my tariff to a cheaper one for gas & electric, had to stay with same company as I had my prepayment meters when I moved in and they swapped them over for free so I have to stay with them for a year. Should save 200 quid a year. Hopefully.

Must look for car insurance now - ends on weds:eek:

Happy weekend all - will now try to read rest of thread x
