There are also tips for leather sofas in the Cleaning section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the board which might be of some help to you :)

My leather sofa (brown) is in need of a good clean and polish, i have noticed some "faded" patches. I wipe up spills etc with baby wipes and when wet these patches look well. Can anyone recommend anything to nourish it with the bring back the shine. I had heard that using Lux flakes might help - has anyone tried this or anything different?
    Thanks ;)

Id deff go with the saddlesoap. The best way to clean it is by using a soft sponge (bit like a baby sponge) and rub gently in circular movements. It should bring it up lovely.
Thats what I used to use on my leather suite when I had it.

You can pick up cheap leather food on ebay in the motoring section - keeps the sofa much more supple than without, and is more economical than that marketed at domestic market.
  • Hi,

At a bike rally we discovered products from renapur - http://www.renapur.com

They do a cleaner which is excellent and which is great for use on a sofa (we have a leather one too).

Their leather balsam does an excellent job of cleaning, protecting and waterproofing, great for motorbike leathers and boots.

You only need a little bit so the bottles last a long time.

Has anyone tried any of these products on a pale leather suite? I have an ivory suite which is nearly 8 years old and although I do wipe it down regularly with a damp microfibre cloth, which is great for cleaning overall dirt and dust, over the years the grain has become inbedded with stains/dirt (we tend to wear denim in this house, which is murder on leather). I have bought those "wonderful" products from QVC in the past - some have worked better than others, but nothing has cleaned it as well as I would have liked (and I don't believe any of the tv demo items have had 8 years of ground in dirt on them either :))

I don't expect the leather to look like new - I'm not that daft (:)), just wondered what other people use on very pale suites.
