    Hi loopy,
I brought some leather cleaner from the pound shop that seems to wor a treat, just spray it on and leave it for a while and buff !!

i've got a cream leather suite so it's quite embarassing seeing all of the muck coming off
  • Hi Loopy
I use Gumption 3 in 1 wet wipes on my settee. They clean, shine and feed the leather. They really do get the dirt off and smell nice too! I bought them from Half Price or less, also know as Home Bargains, for 99P for a pack of twenty.

I've got a brown leather suite and when I tried baby-wipes they seemed to take off the colour as well as the muck :(

Just test a little patch of your suite before you go ahead and clean the whole thing. TBH I'm afraid of using anything on my suite in case it takes off any more colour.
Just run, run and keep on running!

I have an ivory coloured suite and if I just want to clean up all the mucj 2 small boys put on it, I've found a wipe over with a microfibre cloth does wonders. I don't rub hard in case it damages the leather, but it does keep it clean. I feed it when I can remember with whatever I've found at the time - none of these 'miracle' cleaners seen on TV work.

add. If there are any tv peeps/promoters of leather cleaners reading this, please feel free to use my 7 year old suite as a real test.:D

I've seen something called Astonish Leather Cleaner selling for a couple of quid but have no idea how good it is. Anyone used it before?

My cream leather suite could do with a clean and feed as it's getting on for a year old now and I've noticed the odd grubby mark starting to appear

  • We have a navy blue leather sofa, and I too have noticed baby wipes take the colour off it ~ it makes me think really, as these are used on my daughters bottom! And to think what they did to the sofa! LOL! You can buy packs of leather wipes in Wilkinsons and they have been really good ~ the sofa looks nice and new, and you can use it on jackets too.

I work in a shoe shop and use something called 'premium leather cream' to 'feed' our leather sofa. It keeps it soft and supple - it can almost bend over backwards ;) Its expensive - £3.50 a tube but I dont feed it often - I like to keep it on a strict diet :D
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

The best stuff I've ever used on leather is good old fashioned saddle soap, but not sure if I'd want to do my suite with it
