  • I went into Ikea for a wander round before she got there and accidentally spent £60 on a bookcase and some storage bits for it :o I built it last night (all on my own, so very impressed with myself) and it's up in the craftyroom now and has made a massive difference.

I do hope the grass was done before any building commenced!

I'm just glad I didn't give into temptation of the £100+ table that you had me look at! (However, if it had been the right colour, the outcome may well have been very different :rotfl:)

The grass got done as soon as I got back from meeting you - I didn't even stop for a cuppa :A

Today I got home from work and found energy from somewhere - I chucked out all the old cardboard boxes we had lying around (quite a few.....the cats love a box for sleeping in!), an old sidetable and two carrier bags full of books all went up to the local recycling facility. I've cleaned the kitchen and sorted out three loads of washing and put them away. I think that the lovely weather we have (23 degrees when I left work!!) has given me a bit more energy.

I'm about to retire to the craftyroom for the rest of the night to watch some ridiculous films on Lovefilm and make a load of cards for Mama Fresian as ordered :D

Ikea is so dangerous - there's so many pretty things!

*sigh* wouldn't it be nice if (and just so it doesn't appear greedy:D) we could all have one day / year that we would buy anything (and everything!) we wanted from Ikea..... just one - that's not too much surely!:p

I see the attraction of that, but please,please,please....make sure we all have different days? That place is busy enough asit is! :rotfl:
  • I spent £115 in Ikea the other day! Half on a bookcase that I did need for the flat, but the rest was on pretty tea towels, and a few other non-essential items but they will make the batchelor padd easier to live in!

Oh yes! That sounds like a fabby idea. But Mags, it would be an MSE members only day. We would drive the Ikeans mad looking for bargains!!! :D

Oh, I'm not allowed in Ikea again...! I'm skinter than a skint thing despite it being bonus month :D

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £54
Entertainment - £40.71 (that will reduce as I plan to meet Souk for cocktails soon!)
    Car fund - £25.14
Groceries - £92.64 although Mama Fresian owes me £20 as I stock up for offers for her too :D
    2nd purse - £12.11
Loan balance - Unknown as online banking broken :(
    Savings - £260.56

I also have to pay for train tickets to Manchester shortly as I'm going to see Pearl Jam in June :D:D That'll have to come from my savings :( I can't seem to find a cheaper fare than £70 return, which I suppose is good, but when Trainline shows tickets at £16 for every day apart from the one I'm travelling it's a little frustrating

In better news, I'm off to work in a summery dress today. A size 12 one :D:D
