Morning all
Not a bad weekend moneywise as I managed a NSD for the first time in a whileI did buy some clothes at the weekend, but most of them aren't suitable so will go back shortly.
Today I'm going to have to pay the car insurance (boooo) which is over £500. I have £520 in the car fund, but it's going to be wiped out by the insurance and I think I'm going to have to up my monthly amount to be able to cover everything throughout the year.
I've balanced my accounts for the month now and although I owe the Second Purse £9.99, I'm pleased with how many things I've managed to stock up on using this system. The supermarket wouldn't let you owe it a tenner the week before payday :rotfl:When I repay that and add my monthly Second Purse topup, I'm going to be able to make my first withdrawal into my Third Purse (which is the one you use for fun things!)
Tomorrow is payday (and bonus day) so I'm going to be able to do some proper budgeteering. Sadly I broke my glasses this morning (well, the nose thingie has fallen off) so I might have to buy a new pair. I'm going to head to the opticians at lunchtime and see if they'll take pity on me and fix it for nothingIf not, Mr Fresian has said that he'll go halfers on a new pair for me, so hopefully I'll be able to get that sorted out quickly. At the moment, my specs are sitting right on the bridge of my nose which is incredibly annoying.
Not a lot to report from the weekend. I met some friends for coffee on Saturday which was lovely and did a bit of light shopping. Bargain of the weekend was a pair of knee boots from Tesco for £4Sadly the £2.50 jeans weren't that flattering, but I can take them back later in the week. I had a very lucky weekend as I won a blog candy (random giveaway of stuff for those who don't really do cardmaking blogs), a digital stamp (must fix the printer this week) and a cardmaking competition with one of my recent makes. Very chuffed with this as it means free stuff :rotfl: I'm trying to remember to blog a few cards a week and enter as many challenges as I can in order to try and win some free things. These are the first things I've won since January though so it's never going to account for my crafting needs completely
In other news, I've sold a load of stuff on Facebook (again, more crafty things) and used some of the proceeds to buy more stamps. If I can do this and keep my craft spending cash-neutral I'll be very pleased indeed. I've also got an order of baby cards to do for Mama Fresian, so need to get cracking on that this week. That will be some more pennies in the crafty coffers.
Better get back to work now...sshhh!0 -
Keep up the good work, you generally are an inspiration to me and I wish I could bottle some of your attitude and spray it when I need it (which would be every day)Emergency savings: £0 saved / £4000 target0

My attitude isn't always this good (for reference see bursting into tears this morning when my glasses broke because I'd paid all my savings into the sodding loan) but all you can do is keep plodding away0 -

Glad you are sorted with your glasses. That doesn't sound a bad price for thin lenses etc - my last opticians visit set mr back over £300!!
It's just life happening though - at least that's how I'm trying to view things. My quick trip to Ikea on Friday to buy some filter coffee resulted in a little car crash that at best will cost me £100 excess and a hike in my insurance - and at worst, a write off and a new car. No one was hurt luckily, so hey ho to the money - I'm gutted but i can't do anything about it.
Happy Tuesday!Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

Woo for payday!
PAD/Spends - £180
Entertainment - £50
Car fund - £580 (still got to pay the sodding insurance though!)
Groceries - £190.01
2nd purse - £50
Christmas/birthday fund - £66.24
Loan balance - £517.53
Savings - £220.42
I've also taken £4+change out of the second purse and paid it to my piggy bank. I have £20 cash in my proper purse, although that's to pay dinner out tonightThe credit card is paid off (including the glasses I bought yesterday) and I've left a healthy balance in the PAD/Spends account so I can buy new clothes if I see any I like. I paid £60ish into my loan this morning and the normal payment will go out tomorrow too.
I'll be skint again by the end of the week, but it's nice while it lasts :rotfl:0
