wow, love the idea of the visit up the NE coast :) will do Alan the world of good. Can you take a light wheelchair in case he does get too tired to walk?

I haven't actually managed to get any turmeric yet Aesop as they say you must use organic and I can't find any out here in the sticks. However, I do know of a fantastic organic store in market in Newcastle so I know I can get some there, so will get some next week ;) Thanks for reminding me hun

I am off to bed now - night night all

    Hey 3Dogs and friends!

    Hope all are well.

Bess looks lovely! love her little pudgey belly!
Is it the undercover market in Newcastle city centre you go to Susan, DD was at Uni there and we used to love munging round that market! Take your woollies though, was always a lot colder in the Toon than in York!

Remember that Alan still has an awful lot of healing to do inside, they would have had a good old rummage about in there and insides take soo much longer to heal than the surface. Get him to eat high energy foods little and often and take 'power naps' to help with his tiredness. Hope bloods come back ok. A folding/light wheelchair sounds a great idea Aesop. It would certainly help on the trip.

Managed to get some gardening done but am a bit of a fairweather gardener, inside as soon as it spits or gets nippy!

    Take care everyone

Little??? Bess's belly is not little  :rotfl: :rotfl: She is on a diet through the vets and has lost just under a kilo :D

Yes, the covered market - Grainger Market. It's big and I used to love wandering round when we lived there and still do wwhen I visit - you can get anything there

I know what you mean about Alan's insides needing time to heal. what you see on the surface is nothing compared with what has been done inside :( Surgeon said to him it could take up to 2 years to heal after the surgery he's had. Alan said "2 years? Have I got that long? It had better hurry up then" :rotfl: :rotfl: I will have to try to get him to eat smaller portions more often I think

Thanks for the advice hun, it really helps :A How is Nick at the moment. You sound happier ;)

Sorry your OH is delayed MollyMiss but he'll be home before in the morning and then off to Devon you go :D

The rain stayed away here in the end, but the sun didn't really get out either. After having lunch at the cafe pork steak, mash, peas and gravy though Alan had chips with his we did a little shopping in Tossco, mainly for Linda, and then back home

My brother rang when I had the dogs out so Alan talked to him and then I took over when I got back. We were planning to go up 'home' on Saturday morning to see my niece and family before they go off to Florida on holiday on Sunday ....... BUT ..... my brother told me that although their flight is Sunday, they are getting the train to Manchester on Saturday and staying in airport hotel overnight before flight  This would mean that we didn't see them before they go, so we quickly decided to drive up tomorrow. The dogs are booked into the kennels from tomorrow anyway, it just meant that I had to do all my washing and defrost the big freezer tonight, instead of tomorrow as planned - busy night for me   I am still getting ice out of the freezer, from top shelf, where it was thickest. It is nearly there, but by the time I get the last of the ice out, dry it out and put it on speed-freeze, it is going to be late when I get to bed. But there is no hurry as I am still washing my last load of clothes and have to finish that and tumble it dry yet  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We will be taking dogs to kennels first thing in the morning and will decide then as to whether we nip to the car boot for an hour. I still have to pack case and sort out things to take up, though I sorted the meds earlier. When I picked up our meds from surgery dispensary earlier, they didn't have one of Alan's tablets so we have to pick those up before we go. Plus we are expecting a deliver of a new mattress so hoping that comes in the morning. The pillows I got from the same place were delivered late morning, so hoping tomorrow's is the same

I have told my niece that we plan to leave at noon to get up there about 4.30pm, so she said to go straight to her's, as I have to get her Mam's keys off her as we are staying at my sister's house at first. I have offered to have my two great-nieces for an hour or two when we get there to give her and her OH a bit of peace to sort everything out for going without the girls underfoot, so we will get to spend some time with them before they go, and I do have a few goodies to give to them courtesy of Tossco ;) I have a big bag of Old El Paso for my sister too from Tossco glitch a while ago :rotfl:

Right, I am off to clear the last of the ice and get the freezer dried off ..........................

Whoops, I forgot to say, GP rang this afternoon and said Alan's bloods were fine, so he's not anaemic. He said he would come round to visit Alan and examine him when we got back from trip up North, but then he rang straight back and said he would come tomorrow evening after surgery, about 7.30/8pm, which was nice of him. Unfortunately, with our plans changing, this will have to wait until we get back, so I will have to let the surgery know when I pick those other meds up in the morning

    Thanks hun :D

I am off to bed soon - freezer is on speed-freeze so I hope the freezer bags keep the frozen foods frozen till I get them back in there  Washing is all done, just need to put last load into airing cupboard to finish it off

So night night all - sleep well :D
