We spent about an hour at the auction this morning and then popped round to the cb cafe for cuppa and read of newspapers, before heading home. Alan had a nap and I did some paperwork regarding our ongoing Housing Benefit/CTB. I emailed the HB office some details and popped into town to drop in some documents to find that they closed at 4pm ..... and I got there at 4.15pm :( So going to have to take them in to them in the morning

While I took the dogs for a 3/4 hour walk at tea time  Alan cleaned and hoovered the leather sofa bed so that is ready to put into the van in the morning and take down to the auction for Saturday's sale :D Can't wait to get it out of our small living room, as it is rather crowded with 2 sofa beds and two armchairs, though the dogs love it ;)

Anyway, after taking the sofa to the auction, we are calling at the dealership on our way home, to collect the new car, at 10.30am :j :j :j :j We can't wait ........ but we will have to :o

Afternoon/Evening guys - too wet this morning to take the sofa to the auction as it would have got wet - too long for van so would be sticking out the back, getting soaked

So we just went straight to the garage to pick up the car. We were there 2 hours as the salesman was very thorough, going through all the paperwork and showing us how everything worked in the car - and there's loads of bottons and switches, plus Sat Nav screen doubling as radio/mp3 player and 360 degree cameras for parking

I let Alan drive it home and then back to the dealership to apy the deposit because he'd forgetten his wallet/bank card when we went earlier so couldn't pay  Luckily the guy let us take the car and call back later to pay :o Also, as he is leaving tomorrow, he put £30 of diesel in the car for us :D

Fantastic driving a new car for the first time, other than hire cars, but this one had 5 miles on the clock so definitely first time driving a car with that low a mileage  Can't wait to try it out on a long journey, going down to Portsmouth to visit Kit, Steve & Andy :j :j

Or and was sitting this afternoon and suddenly remembered that I hadn't took that paperwork into the council office for HB/CTB and had to dash into town again, in new car of course, getting to the office at 3.40pm. I saw a notice saying that from 3rd January 2012 they close at 4pm instead of the 4.30pm I assumed yesterday. At least that is done now

Glad you have the car all sorted - you need a nice comfy car for longer journeys. My OH has an x-type jag as he commutes 140 mile a day to work. Not something you would want to do in a smaller tinny car :rotfl:

Got another Mr 3Dogs'ism for ya:

We were sitting watching tv the other afternoon and Mr 3Dogs says "God, I'm tired again. I'm always tired these days. I don't know what's wrong with me"  We both looked at each other and burst out laughing ........ ahem, terminal cancer, had you forgotten :p

He was telling someone the other day that he doesn't think about it all the time. He doesn't dwell on it. He isn't ignoring it. He's just not letting it take over his life. I am so proud of him. It's not that many years ago that he could not have dealt with having a stoma and having a bag for the rest of his life, and he would have thought it was the end of the world to have all this happening to him love0076.gif

Off to bed now - night night guys - sleep well
