Hugs to Alan, Susan, Aesop, and any other friends that pop buy. Still not touched our cadburys easter eggs, well apart from the Easter bunny that we ate Saturday over at Kit's

     chocolate is for eating Andy, not for looking at or hiding away in a cupboard :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hiya gang, what a night. My friend Linda is not good at all at the minute and in agony, so I told her last night to ring the out of hours doctors and at about 8.15pm I went round to hers in my pj's and dressing gown with fleece over the top :o when I saw an ambulance pulling up at hers. The paramentics gave her a good check over as they thought that the chest pains may have been her heart but that was ok. She was very tender though just under her ribs, right round. She has possible sinus infection which her own doctor had said he couldn't give her anything for as it''s a bug going round and that she couldn't have antibiotics due to her taking methatrexate  and her IBA is acting up, so they said they could either take her to hospital which she didn't want, or get out-of-hours doc to come straight round to see her, which he did. Gave her some tablets to take and a prescription for anit-biotics for me to get made up today. He said she could have antibiotics, just not penecillin  However, she has had another terrible night in agony so I am taking her to her own doctor for a 4.30pm appointment and hope he will give her something to ease the pain. She can't eat anything or the pain rears up, and even sipping fluids is sending her straight to the loo

Anyway, last night, when I got back round home after about an hour at Linda's, we watched the rest of the footie and Alan went to bed. Then I went to bed about midnight. But I have had a terrible night with the dogs again. Molly just wouldn't settle and we worry about her crying waking the neighbours so I have to get up for her. She had a wee the first time but cried again. Then I got up for her again and she just came and slept beside me  so after 15 minutes or so, I put her back into her crate and got back into bed, and she cried again so I tried something I had read about banging on top of the crate. I sat on the bottle of the bed and knocked the top of her crate with a folder and she carried on, so I did it again, and again and she stopped so I just sat were I was for 5 minutes. She stayed quiet, though sitting up, so I move along to corner of the bed where she could still see me and sat there for about 5 minutes and she lay down. Then I moved around the corner, 2 minutes, and then to side of bed, 2 minutes, and got into bed quietly and she settled and I eventually got to sleep

So not much sleep for me and it of course disturbs Mr 3dogs too, so he got up early and let me sleep on. Anyone got any ideas how to make sure she settles in her crate. It is the first time we have used a crate with the intention of keeping it going. All our others have been adults when we got them, other than Bess who we crated a night just for a few months and Billy who we let on the bed from the first night as he was 5 months when we got him. I would like to keep crating her when we go out and at night. She isn't fully house-trained yet so we need to crate her but perhaps it's not a good idea when Bess is loose in the house. Mind you, when Alan spoke to our neighbour he said that he hadn't heard the dogs at all except when they are in the garden and his door is open, or when they bark as he passes our front to get to his house, so that is a relief

It is a sunny day today so our neighbour came round to cut all those branches out of that tree in the corner of our garden, which is very good of him. I was still in bed so Alan saw to him, but he felt awful having someone who is not fit himself doing jobs she would normally do, and his legs where aching with standing in the garden as neighbour did the work :o The garden, which is small, is now opened up and a lot lighter, and the overhanging branches that come over my washing line are gone :j

Alan is having a lie-down now and I will wake him about 2pm as he wants to get out today so is going with me for shopping at Mr T Mar(h

Whoops - sorry so such long post!!

Only thing I can think of for Molly is an old jumper or top of yours in the crate, so she's got your smell next to her.

Poor Linda, hope she start's to feel better soon.

I'll try that Boult, thanks. Linda is still very poorly even after seeing the doctor so she has rang out of hours docs again and they are sending a nurse to see her

That's a good idea Beanie, can even be combined with the top to sound and smell like someone's sleeping with her.
