LOL to moving 50 yards :rotfl: :rotfl: but if that house suits you better and gives you more space, then it was a sensible move

Well, I am off to bed now, Alan is sound asleep, bless him

Night Night guys ............. and thank you :A

Hello 3dogs sorry the news is not as good as hoped for.

Picking through your post the vital words are 'treatment not an option as things were'. Nicks infected wound took from surgery 26/12/10 until 25/3/10 before it was suitably healed enough to have Chemo, we too were told to 'enjoy' our time together.A long worrying time.

Alans body needs to concentrate on healing that wound, good healthy diet, plenty of rest, I put Nick on Complan when he didn,t feel like eating its a kind of milkshake but packed with vitamins and other good stuff. (its a case of what can I do? you feel quite useless but I shouted at churches 'your'e not having him' and cleaned/bleached the house to remove anything that might infect him more, as well as sobbing on the kitchen floor when alone, must have looked like a mad woman but it made me feel slightly better).

Keep your positive head on, it will help you through it.
Look after yourself, you are his strength too at the moment.
    Take care Susan

MandyLou, that gives us so much hope :T :T, thanks for sharing that, and I can feel your anguish at what you went through to help your Nick :A I wish we had been there for you when you were going through it, but we are here for you now hun if you need an outlet if things aren't always good for you

I talked to Alan last night about his 'diet' saying it is one thing to eat plenty but another to eat healthily so going to cook some rice, veg and chicken today and see if he'll eat that instead of fish & chips. It will help me get back on my diet a bit as I am feeling the effects of eating rubbish. My weight is steady but I feel yuk :(

You can understand why Alan was requesting fish and chips everyday. Comfort food after being in hospital and being home again. But you are right a nice healthy meal will make him and you feel better, and he can still have fish and chips for a treat ;)

I am trying to find an email but think I have deleted it about superfoods. Am just going to ask someone for it, and will email to you Susan.

have sent something already, which seems random, but read the article, maybe not have to do quite what it says, but you get the gist :)

Thanks Aesop - got your message and skimmed through it and I do get the gist. Oddly enough I have been meaning to check up on 'superfoods' but not got round to it :o I know kiwi fruit are one of them and I've got some of them, which Alan can have with a thick & creamy yoghurt :D

We have had a lazy day today :D Got up at 8.30am in case the District Nurse came shortly after 9 and got us up out of bed like she did last weekend  but in fact she came about 10.30/11am. We'd had a leisurely brekkie - Alan had fancied waffles but when I did them he wasn't impressed so had to make him a bacon buttie instead. I'd grilled them in the halogen as we don't have a toaster and I overdid them - more like french toast so I'm not surprised he didn't like them :o:o:o:o

I didn't even get dressed till 3.30pm when I popped to Mr T to use my £5 off £40 voucher and lots of coupons ;);) so all we have done is watch tv most of the day, mostly Sky Sports :j :j Alan went to bed at 6.30pm and I took the dogs out and then popped round to Linda's for half an hour, and he got up again at 8.20 to watch Sunderland's 3-3 draw v Man City on Sky Football First. He'd asked me to get him a bottle of normal beer and he drank that slowly as he watched the match - he said it was ok, but couldn't have drank any more. It is a shame for him that he is not enjoying his beer as much as before ...... but better for him ;)

We had a healthy meal tonight of chicken, brocolli, sweetcorn, carrots, and rice, and Alan really enjoyed it - it much better for him than fish & chips every day and will strengthen him up quicker too. I have been looking into superfoods to help his 'recovery' and have a few ideas of what to stock up on. He will still have his cakes, croissants, puddings, etc and the odd fish & chips as he is on a very high calory diet on orders from hospital, but can still enjoy some healthy meals too ;) I am going to get some organic Tumeric powder Aesop after reading the details you sent me as that is a simple, easy to use item that will do no harm and may help :j

We are going to the car boot in the morning and he is going to try out his crutches to see how he gets on with them, so that should be interesting

Off to bed soon, so night night guys - sleep well

OOh how nice being told you can have cakes, puddings, etc.

Poor Alan about the waffles, I like french toast :D

Have a good day at the carboot, am thinking I need to start getting up earlier on a sunday and go and view a few ;) see what exciting things i can pick up ;)

Sunny day here even though they said it would be cloudy. Weather forecast for week has changed again. will be sunny tomorrow and raining on tuesday.

Oh well, means I can put my washing outside. Tried to make DS a paper mache bonnet for nursery tuesday, failed miserably. I am not good with paper mache. I didn't realise you had to put a glue mixture in.....:rotfl:

Going to make one more attempt as he only has tomorrow to paint and decorate it and if that doesn't work, will have to buy one of those bonnets already made, decorate yourself.

Last year's creation wasn't that good either...:rotfl::rotfl: but he proudly wore it all day :D That's my son :D

He is much better, but still on antibiotics. He doesn't like taste of them and tells me he is better and doesn't need them.

We've had a good day today :j :j It was frosty this morning but sunny all day, just a chilly breeze to spoil it

Alan used his crutches to help him get around down at the car boot and got on well with them :D We went down about 10.30am and stayed till 1pm, chatting to friends, having cuppa and bacon sarnie each, wandering around the stalls a bit. Then I opened up the 2 storage containers to show Alan what was still there, and a friend who is two stalls away said he would get 'his lad' to open up the units and put as many boxes of stuff out to sell, and people can browse the vinyl records easily in one unit. He will cover the rent for that week (2 x £20) and the pitch fee and, after paying the lad, will split anything over that. This is great as it gets rid of stuff and covers rent, and he said he will do it for as long as we like or as long as it takes to clear it all :j :j When Steve and Andy were down the other week, they put all the clothes that were in there into lots of bin liners and we said that the 13 yr old lad on the stall opposite can put them out next week and sell them for some money for himself, so he was chuffed with that. He was very upset when he heard about Alan's illness and asked him today how long he had to live  It takes a 13 year old boy to say those words, while people normally don't know what to say. He had no problem asking and Alan was happy to answer him with 'I don't know'

When we got home, we watched footie on tv, then Alan went for a lie down and I popped to the tip with a dozen black bags from when I cleared out the bedroom. I called into Mr T's on way back and got 2 x hearts for the doggies for 20p, a whole large cooked chicken for 86p, and two lots of b-b-q chicken portions for 40p each :j :j So we had some of the chicken pieces on their own when I got back and tonight had some of the chicken with rice and veg. Still plenty left for tomorrow too :D and the doggies enjoyed a little heart on their dry food tonight ;)

My brother rang me tonight, prompted by my Sis, and we had a good natter and he said he will put a cheque in the post tomorrow for me, to make sure we have plenty. The money is from Mam's savings, and he will give the same to my sis which will be great for her too with being on very short wages at the moment and USA holiday in only 5 weeks time. Mam wouldn't want us to be short, especially in the circumstances - she hasn't got masses of money but would rather we had some now, when we needed it, than struggle until the money is shared out when she goes

I am off for a catch up on the Tesco/coupon threads now but will be back later
