Sorry Beanie - hope you can get one
Got over to the hospital early this morning so had 15 minutes to have a coffee and then went to the CT Scan dept. Only waited 10 minutes and alan was only in for another 10 minutes, but we had to wait for 20 minutes to check that Alan had no side effects from the dye they injected, so had a refill in cafe for £1We called in at the auction when we got back to Wisbech to collect a shoe cabinet I bought last week. One of the lovely porters put it in the van for me. Then we went down to the car boot cafe and had breakfast and a cuppa, before heading home. Alan was tired but stayed up for another couple of hours before going for a nap. I cleared all the shoes and allsorts from the hallway and dragged the cabinet in from the car  It isn't a conti-board one, more heavy than that, probably block-board, so I got wrong from Alan when he got up for fetching it in
Anyway, it is in now, tidies that area up and looks good, so I am pleased :j :j
Alan decided he wanted fish & chips and, as I didn't have anything ready, I popped out to get them. Just the one portion between usbut that is enough
We are both just relaxing in pj's watching the footie on Sky now :beer:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Good news on the shoe cabinet.
Yes Beanie, I was really pleased with it and at getting it in place - cost me £10 at the auction but, as I said, it is solid and is just right for where I have put it :j :j Getting jobs done one by one and slowly getting the house more organised and tidied
Our newish neighbour asked if he could cut some branches from our tree in the back garden which overhang his garden and washing line. When I told him that Alan had planned to take it out completely over this winter as it overhung my washing lines too, but hadn't been able to, he said he would cut as many branches as he could off from his side, which he did today. I was talking to him tonight and he said next Tuesday, if it is ok to come into our garden, he will cut it right down for us if he can, which is so good of him as he is not fully able himselfHe might only be able to get all the lower branches cut out but that would be enough. It is only a small tree, not a flowering cherry but something like that, yet the spread on it has got wider and wider each year  so it has got to be either cut out or at least tamed

Morning guys
Alan got up about 9.30am to watch the cricket from Sri Lanka and, because I was ker-nackered, he told me to have a good lie inHe did his own breakfast which consisted of croissant with butter and jam, choc hobnobs, a piece of banana cake and then a muller rice  :rotfl: I got up at 11am
and Alan has just gone back to bed for a nap
We are going down to the car boot yard when he gets back up to empty the van and bring some things back from the unit that are for home/ebay. No district Nurse today as they are now doing his dressing every other dayMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Well, by the time we got down to the car boot yard, it was raining, so we had our lunch and very nice it was too. By the time we had finished it had stopped so we went round to the unit and I got the boxes out of the van and into the unit, then put a couple of boxes into the van that were to come home. Alan was tired by then, so I drove back home to drop him off and then back into town centre to put the cheque into the bank
When I got back home, we had a note through the door saying District Nurse had called when we were out so I rang them to explain that we'd been told every other day for his dressing now so we weren't expecting anyone today, so they said OK and nurse will be there tomorrow
We have been having a terrible time trying to get the Macmillan Welfare woman to ring us back regarding getting Alan's DLA claim and everything else, so after yet another day of no call back from her, I rang the Macmillan Nurse Mary, and asked her to help chase the woman up or, preferably, put me in touch with someone else. While we were out, she had rang back with details of their Advisor at CAB and when I rang her, it couldn't have been more different. Una was bright and helpful and straight into helping us. I have to get our GP to complete the Special Rules form as we don;t know if the other woman obtained one, and then Una will squeeze us in tomorrow or Thursday to get Alan's DLA form completed and submitted, arrange a Blue Badge withing 48 hours, sort out his claim for Pension Credit and close Tax Credit claim/cease self employment
I said to her that what she was doing, what I had heard from her, was what we wanted ..... not the constant leaving messages that are not replied to we were having with the other woman. It had started to get me down as it was taking so long to sort out and with just one phone call, we feel good againShe lifted our mood immediately and we felt that the financial side was at last being dealt with ... we were eventually getting this done :j :j
Off to bed now so night night guys :beer:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

So pleased you found someone helpful to get those forms filled, blue badge, etc.
otherwise me and Beanie would have had to do them over the phone!
I did think it was taking a bit long :mad:These things are normally expedited!
Made DS' easter bonnet....:rotfl: it is a chick, but as we ran out of time, only 2 coats of paint and you can see the word Simon on the newspaper....:rotfl:
yes it is rubbish, but hey, I only had a few days to make it, rather than 2 weeks, and DS has thoroughly enjoyed himself, doing the paper mache, painting, gluing, etc. he is very proud of it0
