8th survival tip NEVER think of the workshy wastrels of the upper classes, the City spivs causing starvation etc.
9th NEVER read books such as Chavs the demonisation of the working classes, no logo and shock doctrine naomi klein, Frances fox Piven 'the regulation of the poor' as it might challenge your poorly gained ideas.
10th Survival tip Always believe what mainstream media tell you, don't go to demos and or protest online, blame riots on feral youth not social dissent (camerons argument).#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B

Many of the people I work with have never worked or paid taxes(direct) and come from families with 2 or 3 generations of worklessness.
I can give a 100% guarantee that not one person I deal with on these projects is exploited in any way and once the pilot is finished and it is in the media, you can read all about it."
Yes we will be reading all about it,how its failed or the Government will cover its ineffectiveness up in total spin.no, you will read about the project I am involved in if you can get your head our of your...... for long enough
I know plenty of professional people who are unemployed.woohoo, we all do, I was one 3.5 years ago and?Of course the people on the projects are expolited because they are not a means to an end ie a job, they are an end in itself, and thats a dead end except there are jobs available on this project.
The W.P will not make a slightest bit of difference to the unemployed and I bet you a pound on thatkeep it, buy yourself a balanced opinion.

But I digress, if we are to pay people to do the work experience, do we charge them the going rate for the training (see previous posts) they also receive? I can assure you that £50 per week will be swallowed up by the £46 it costs to register each person on a Customer Service exam without the cost of the training itself not to mention the rest of the training they can get.
why should people be charged for training? employees dont get charged for the training they recieve. if the employer wants people to be competent then they supply the training at their expense. or if dwp, providers etc want people to become competent enough to be able to get employed then they should cover the cost. also contrary to what you think most people spend most of their time on placement doing the same job as the employees.0 -

Why? it takes 10 minutes of your precious time to prove you dont have any literacy/numeracy issues, so what?
It is a condition of funding that Information, Advice & Guidance is given. This can only be done properly if we are aware of any issues that could prevent a candidate from achieving the qualification. One method is to assess the level of literacy & numeracy so that the correct level of training can be given. We know we have to do this as the JCP do not, although they are supposed to. We can then embed literacy/numeracy training within the mainstream qualification they are studying for. Which bit of this do you disagree with? Or should we simply put everyone on a course regardless of the potential outcome?0 -
donnajunkie wrote: »i didnt say give people it for trying to get a job. i said pay them it while they are working full time on a placement. it is simple to understand. you work hard all week and you get a financial reward that you would not get for not working. you would find that the majority of the workforce would not be working as hard as they do if all they got was jsa for their weeks work. to motivate people there needs to be a financial difference between what they get for not working and what they get while working.

I am aware of what they are doing on the placement, I helped design it. Thanks.0 -
