A few weeks ago there was one on the shelf but when I got to the till they wouldn't sell it to me.
There was an EPW on rice back then, affected most supermarkets.
EPW: Emergency Product Widthrawal... If a product is placed on the shelf after this by accident, the tills are set up to not allow the sale for your own safety.0 -
If they have loose vine tomatoes, you can remove all trace of the vine... they seem to go through as your normal cheaper tomato0

Bossyboots wrote:That was my question too. They said something about it being recalled but when I questioned why a product that they were recalling was available on the shelf, they had no answer. Its not like it could just magic itself on there. If they knew it was being recalled they could have done what I did and gone to the shelf and taken it off. Since then, there has never been a large back of own brand rice available and I noticed today that now there is not even a space left for them anymore.
they may have decided to take the product off display while the problem was sorted or they have decided to not stock it anymore, its just lifeNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

ka7e wrote:Tesco are not the only culprits. Since our local Safeway was taken over by Morrisons, you can no longer buy loose turnips. They are now sold in multipacks of 4-6!
they're not very focused on the 1 person living by themselves are they, is 1 person going to eat 6 turnips in a week i think not,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -

P.S. In the 'month without supermarkets' challenge over on the Old Style board, most people found that they saved money, enjoyed shopping more, were less stressed etc and won't be going back to Mr T's et al:

Also ... noticed yesterday that Tesco Basic Frozen Peas have suddenly become 1 kg packs. Guess what tho - price is still the same as it was for 1.5 kg packs!
Rummage down the bottom of the freezer and you'll probably find the old 1.5 kg packs! Quick while stocks last.0
